One difference between the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games and previous editions was that the host country did not use traditional fireworks, for the purpose of environmental protection. With the goal of organizing a green Games, the organizing committee strived to create a carbon-free event for the first time, while also initiating special projects to reduce emissions.
The 19th Asian Games will be the biggest tournament in history.
The theme of the 19th Asian Games Opening Ceremony was "Towards Asia." Here, the host country showcased the unique cultural features of China in general, and Hangzhou in particular, to friends from around the continent. The distinctive traditional Chinese culture was highlighted through artistic ideas such as ink paintings and the misty atmosphere of Jiangnan. Blue and green were chosen as the dominant lighting colors throughout the ceremony. The panoramic water fountain display was the most anticipated part, alongside many other unique artistic performances.
