The 19th Asian Games will take place from September 23 to October 8, with 40 sports including 61 disciplines and 481 events. This Games will have about 12,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories of the continent. This is the Games with the largest number of participants in history. The 19th Asian Games will be held at 54 locations, taking place in Hangzhou and satellite cities.

One difference between the 19th Asian Games Opening Ceremony and previous Games is that the host country did not use traditional fireworks for environmental protection purposes. With the goal of holding a green Games, the organizing committee has made efforts to bring the first carbon-free Games, and initiated special projects to reduce emissions.
Asian Games 19 will be the biggest event in history
The theme of the 19th Asian Games Opening Ceremony is “Towards Asia”. Here, the host country will introduce the unique cultural features of China in general and Hangzhou in particular to friends from other countries in the continent. The unique traditional culture of China will be highlighted through the artistic ideas of ink painting and Jiangnan mist. Blue and green are chosen as the main light colors throughout the ceremony. The panoramic water fountain will be the most anticipated performance, along with many other unique art performances.

The official song of the 19th Asian Games is called “The Love We Share”, performed by famous Chinese singer Sun Nan at the Opening Ceremony. The mascots of the Asian Games are also meaningful, representing the long-standing traditions and symbols of Hangzhou, with robots named Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen. These three robots will act as symbols of the Olympic spirit, peace and friendship, inviting all of Asia to Hangzhou.
Vietnam Sports Delegation parades at the opening ceremony
The Vietnamese Sports Delegation attended the Opening Ceremony with the Head of Delegation, Deputy Head of Delegation, all officials, doctors, and team leaders in the Asian Games village. Representatives of coaches and athletes of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation marched at the Opening Ceremony with the following teams: Shooting, Swimming, Rowing, Boxing, Chess, Fencing, eSports, Judo, Tennis, and Gymnastics.
The Vietnamese Sports Delegation marched 43rd out of 45 participating delegations. The two athletes holding the flag for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the opening ceremony were Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming) and Nguyen Thi Huong (shooting). The Vietnamese Sports Delegation attending the 19th Asian Games has 504 members, including 337 athletes, aiming to win 2-5 gold medals in the following sports: Sepak Takraw, Cycling, Weightlifting, Karate, Shooting, Archery, and Chinese Chess.
