On the evening of January 18 (local time), President-elect Donald Trump arrived in Washington to prepare for his inauguration amid record-breaking cold temperatures that affected scheduled events.

Mr. Trump traveled by Air Force One to Washington from Palm Beach, Florida. Accompanying him on the flight were his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
A cold weather forecast for January 20 forced Mr Trump to move inauguration ceremonies from the iconic west side of the US Capitol building into the building.
The traditional parade down Pennsylvania Avenue will also be held at the Capital One Arena.
Mr Trump will be sworn in at 12pm ET (1700 GMT) and will deliver his inaugural address, which is expected to set out his priorities for the next four years.
