Also attending were representatives of the Special Working Groups of the provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xaysom Bun (Lao PDR); members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of departments, branches, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command; Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, unions and a large number of cadres and people of Nghi Loc district.


In the dry season of 2024 - 2025, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command, was assigned the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun provinces (Lao PDR).
During the mission in Laos, the officers and staff of the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team encountered many difficulties, especially the rugged terrain and limited information on graves, which were mainly located in remote, mountainous areas.



With a high sense of responsibility and deep affection for the heroic martyrs, with the coordination and support of all levels, sectors, localities and people of Lao ethnic groups, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team searched for and recovered the remains of 76 martyrs who died in the provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun and brought them back to their beloved motherland.
The memorial service and burial ceremony for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos and were gathered during the 2024-2025 dry season was solemnly and respectfully organized by Nghe An province; with the opening ceremony, incense offering ceremony, flower offering ceremony, burial ceremony...

At the ceremony, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Nghe An province presented a eulogy in memory of the nation's outstanding sons who heroically fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble international duty in the brotherly country of Laos.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh affirmed that our Party, State, People and Army are very proud of the heroic fighting examples and noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.

With the spirit of solidarity, courage and intelligence, you have achieved many resounding victories, contributing greatly to the victory of the revolutions of the two countries, adding to the special solidarity and friendship and the heroic history of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

At the same time, express deep gratitude to the Party, Government and people of Lao ethnic groups in general, and the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun in particular, for taking care of and protecting Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts as if they were their own children. When the martyrs fell, the Lao ethnic people took care of their graves, burned incense, worshiped them and organized visits.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh praised the efforts of the officers and soldiers of the Quy Tap Team who promoted the spirit of solidarity, overcame all difficulties and hardships to search, collect and move the remains of heroic martyrs back to the country to ensure safety, demonstrating the tradition of remembering the source of water, the noble and sacred humanistic meaning of our nation.


In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the delegates respectfully bowed to offer fresh flowers and incense to the heroic martyrs to express their infinite gratitude. At the same time, they sent their deep gratitude to the martyrs’ relatives, families of wounded and sick soldiers, and those who have rendered great service to the country.
Nghe An province vows to continue to promote the tradition of the nation, of the heroic Soviet homeland, strive to study and follow the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh and the brave fighting spirit of the heroic martyrs, promote internal strength, exploit external strength, strive to successfully achieve the set goals, and build Nghe An province to become increasingly prosperous as Uncle Ho always wished.



At the ceremony, delegates and a large number of officials and people of Nghe An province saw off 76 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and were gathered during the 2024-2025 dry season to their final resting place.
Over the past 40 years, the Special Working Group of the Governments of Vietnam and Laos, the Ministry of National Defense, the Military Region 4 Command, and Nghe An province have closely coordinated with the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, and Xay Som Bun (Laos) to search for, collect, and collect the remains of 12,740 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the resistance wars in Laos.
Of these, 1,680 remains have names and hometowns, and 937 martyrs' remains have been handed over to local authorities and families for burial in the martyrs' hometowns.
