At the 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group B with Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Iran. In the opening match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team will face the Hong Kong women's futsal team at 4 p.m. this afternoon (May 7, Vietnam time).
The continental tournament is also the qualifying round for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup (held for the first time, taking place in November this year in the Philippines). Accordingly, the 3 teams with the best results (champion, runner-up and 3rd place) of the Asian tournament will win direct tickets to the World Cup. The Vietnamese women's futsal team is considered to have a chance to compete for a ticket to the Women's Futsal World Cup.

However, the bad news is that up to this point, no unit in Vietnam owns the television copyright to broadcast live the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship.
What do Vietnam's opponents say?
Regarding the Hong Kong women's futsal team, this is an opponent that is on par with the Vietnamese girls. To get past the group stage, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team needs to take advantage of this opening match. Talking about the opponent, veteran player Tran Thi Thuy Trang said: "I have never faced this team, but through watching the video , I can see that they have made a lot of progress. However, I believe that if the whole team plays at their best, we can absolutely win. I come to the tournament with pride as a Vietnamese woman, ready to play my best and hope to contribute to the team's success."
On the other hand, coach Ho Wing Kam shared: "We had 3 short training sessions in March and April to improve our skills, fitness and tactics. Having to face Vietnam in the opening match, I think it is a big challenge. They have good skills. We need to prepare well in terms of tactics and maintain stable performance."
