The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, with the participation of 32 teams from 6 federations, will take place in 12 cities in the United States from June 15 to July 14. In Vietnam, FPT Play owns the copyright and will broadcast this tournament live.
Completely different from previous years, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will apply the same format as the World Cup for national teams. Accordingly, 32 teams will be divided into 8 groups, each group of 4 teams will compete in a round-robin.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16. From there, matches will be played in a knockout format, leading to the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finally the final to determine the champion. One notable point is that the tournament will not have a third-place match.
According to the schedule announced by FIFA, the tournament will take place at 11pm, 2am, 5am, and 8am. This extended schedule promises to bring the audience nights of enjoying top-notch football in the summer. This will also be the time slot of the 2026 World Cup, taking place a year from now.
The opening match is scheduled to take place between Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Al Ahly (Egypt) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens at 7am on June 15.
The final will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey - which will also host the 2026 World Cup final.
Huge bonuses at FIFA Club World Cup 2025
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has a total prize fund of up to 1 billion USD. Of which, about 525 million USD will be distributed to participating teams, with different levels of receipt depending on the confederation (for example, European teams can receive 13-38 million USD).
In addition, teams will receive additional bonuses based on their performance: winning a group stage match will earn $2 million, drawing will earn $1 million. Passing the group stage will earn an additional $7.5 million, reaching the quarterfinals will earn $13.125 million, semi-finals will earn $21 million, finals will earn $30 million and the champion will receive $40 million.
In total, the champion could pocket up to $125 million, not including the initial entry fee.
