A series of domestic and international stars attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival on the evening of May 9 at Trung Vuong Theater (Da Nang).

The 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF I) has 36 participating films, of which 26 are from Vietnam; 10 are from Asia - Pacific .
The highlight of the Film Festival is the competition of films in 2 categories: Asian Film Award and Vietnamese Film Award, which are evaluated and selected by the Jury of experts in the field of Vietnamese and international cinema to award 12 official awards.

Notably, Ms. Moon So-ri, a Korean film actress, director and screenwriter, attending as the President of the Asian Film Awards Jury is a big surprise for DANAFF this time. It is known that the Organizing Committee spent a lot of effort to invite Ms. Moon So-ri to attend the 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival.
In addition, the jury also includes People's Artist Lan Huong (judge of the Vietnamese Film Competition category) and People's Artist Nhu Quynh (judge of the Asian Film Competition category). The jury includes experts in the field of Vietnamese and international cinema; and famous actors in the Vietnamese film industry.

Sharing about her first participation in the 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival, People's Artist Lan Huong said that this is an opportunity for Vietnamese cinema to have another door to develop and integrate internationally. This is also a playground for Vietnamese cinema, giving filmmakers the opportunity to meet, exchange, learn and promote Vietnamese cinema to the world .
“I hope that this Da Nang Asian Film Festival will become an annual festival. This is an opportunity to closely follow the development of Vietnamese cinema, to see where we stand, where we are to develop together, so that Vietnamese cinema can integrate internationally,” People’s Artist Lan Huong shared.
Evaluating the quality of the films, People's Artist Lan Huong said that the 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival brought many very good films in many different categories.
Among the total of 26 Vietnamese films brought to the 2023 Da Nang Asian Film Festival, many films have been very successful, causing resonance domestically and internationally.

12 films participated in the Asian Film category, including 2 Vietnamese films competing: Glorious Ashes by director Bui Thac Chuyen and Children in the Mist by director Ha Le Diem. In which, Children in the Mist is the first Vietnamese film to enter the Top 15 Best Documentary Oscar .
This film festival also has the Vietnamese Cinema Today program which will screen 16 Vietnamese films produced in 3 years: 2020, 2021, 2022, such as: Godfather, Blood Moon Party, Old Girl with Many Tricks 3, 578: Madman's Bullet, Super Lick Meets Super Mud ...
