Lingard grew up in the Man Utd academy, promoted to the first team in the 2011-2012 season. But after 11 years, in which he was loaned out many times, this midfielder only played 232 matches, scoring 35 goals for Man Utd. When his contract with the "Red Devils" expired in the summer of 2022, Lingard joined Nottingham Forest, but also did not play successfully, with two goals and two assists in 20 matches in all competitions. He has not played since leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023.
Lingard has been training in Dubai for the past few months. The 31-year-old midfielder has been training with Al Ettifaq, a Saudi Arabian club managed by Steven George Gerrard, but has not signed a permanent contract.
