
Principal of Giang Vo Secondary School To Thi Hai Yen (Giang Vo Ward, Hanoi) said that in recent days, the school has continuously changed the notice from in-person learning to online learning and vice versa. To prepare for online lessons, the school has sent information to parents and asked them to coordinate in preparing equipment, transmission lines, and support students to access the classroom. In fact, when teaching online, each teacher needs to prepare more carefully to share the screen and perform some tasks to teach effectively.
Ms. Hanh Le, a Literature teacher at Giang Vo Secondary School, shared that in general, the online class was serious and the connection was stable. However, during the course of the lesson, there were still some students who were not focused, and the teachers called but did not receive an answer. Therefore, in the next lessons, families are asked to pay attention and remind their children to carefully prepare their materials and books so that the lessons can be effective. Ms. Mai Thi Nhung, who is working at Bac Thang Long Industrial Park (Hanoi), has a child in grade 7 at Bui Quang Mai Secondary School. She shared: "I work from morning to night before coming home. The fact that the school proactively lets my children study online also helps me and the parents feel secure when I cannot take or pick up my children to school."
In Quang Ninh province, the Department of Education and Training has announced the storm situation, requiring schools to proactively let students take time off from school and switch to online learning. According to Vice Principal of Phuong Dong B Primary School Tong Thi Minh Loan, in recent days, the school has organized a number of online teaching sessions. Before teaching, the school checked the equipment, generally all families have computers and phones; teachers have projectors and teaching materials. This school year, the school has purchased online teaching software so students can interact like in class; teachers only add more information to make the lessons more lively.
Not only high schools, but universities in Hanoi have also proactively adjusted their teaching, examination and group activities plans in recent days to ensure the safety of lecturers and students. At Hanoi University of Science and Technology, all classes on stormy days were switched from in-person to online.
Similarly, the National Economics University has announced that it will move all teaching activities online and will temporarily postpone mass gatherings such as: health check-ups for new students, extracurricular activities, sports, seminars and academic events.
At the Foreign Trade University, a representative of the Training Management Department said that the school has issued a notice to adjust the study and exam schedule. All classes have been switched to online learning, while exam classes have been postponed to the nearest days.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school facilities, the Department has sent a document requesting school principals to proactively decide on appropriate teaching and learning methods (in-person, online or adjusted timetables) based on actual weather conditions, facility conditions and traffic safety.
To proactively respond, minimize damage and ensure safety for people and property in the education sector, the Ministry requires the Directors of the Department of Education and Training of provinces and cities to closely monitor the developments of storms and floods, maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents. Develop plans to ensure safety for students, teachers and education managers; prepare online learning plans, and postpone school schedules during days when storms and floods develop complicatedly.
