Grade 10 HCMC

The enrollment rate for public 10th graders in Ho Chi Minh City this year is 91.6%. If candidates choose a school that suits their learning ability and is close to their home, almost everyone will be sure to get into a public school. However, the competition at top schools is still fierce. This year, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Nguyen Huu Huan, and Mac Dinh Chi high schools stopped recruiting specialized classes, but getting into these schools is not easy.

It is expected that Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will have a very high admission score. Other schools such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Quy Don, and Bui Thi Xuan High Schools located in District 3 and 1, the city center, with long-standing traditions, will remain in their original locations.

Gia Dinh High School (Binh Thanh) attracts many students from this district and surrounding districts. Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc) is rated the best in the city of more than 1.2 million people (Thu Duc City).

In addition, each district has 1 high school that is noticed and becomes the center of attention such as: Nguyen Huu Cau High School (Hoc Mon) is interested by students in Hoc Mon and District 12.

Similarly, Phu Nhuan High School (Phu Nhuan); Mac Dinh Chi High School (District 6); Practical High School - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (District 5); Tran Phu High School (Tan Phu) are also of interest.

The admission score for grade 10 of high school is the total score of all exam subjects.

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Priority points, incentive points (if any).

Admission score to grade 10 specialized schools is the sum of the scores of regular exams + specialized subject scores x 2

Admission score = Math exam score + Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Specialized subject exam score x 2 + Priority points, incentive points (if any).

According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the test scores of all subjects are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all 3 tests and not have any test with a score of 0.

The integrated 10th grade admission score is the sum of the regular exam scores + integrated score.

Group 1: Students who participate in the integrated English program at secondary school level will be selected based on their entrance exam scores for grade 10 high school and the average score of the integrated English program. These students will be given priority to be placed in schools that teach the integrated English program.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + average score of integrated English program (on a 10-point scale).

This program only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have completed all required exams, have not violated the entrance exam rules, and have not scored a zero on any exam.

Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated English program at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City but register for the 10th grade entrance exam. In addition to the 3 required subjects of Literature, Math, and Foreign Language, students must register and take the integrated English exam.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Integrated English exam score (on a 10-point scale).
