The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - Ton Dong A National Cycling Race kicked off with a 20-lap stage in Tuyen Quang City, covering a total distance of about 46km. Right from the start, the speed of the racing team was pushed very high with a series of attacks, creating an exciting and tense atmosphere.

The important turning point happened after the first 4 laps when Loic Desriac suddenly accelerated strongly, successfully separating from the group.

At this time, the strong teams of An Giang , Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City did not immediately organize a chase. This helped the French racer quickly create a gap of more than 30 seconds and win at the first draw point (sprint 1).

Although the larger group behind then increased their pace to close the gap, Loic Desriac maintained a strong momentum. He continued to win sprint 2 and at one point extended the gap to up to 1 minute over the larger group.

With extraordinary effort and reasonable calculation, the French cyclist raced alone to the finish line, winning convincingly in the excitement of the fans. This victory helped Loic Desriac temporarily keep both the yellow jersey and the green jersey.

After the victory, Loic Desriac emotionally shared: "First of all, I want to thank my wife - a Vietnamese woman. She has given me great motivation to try and know what to do to conquer my goals."

Recalling the race, Loic Desriac revealed the team's strategy: "Over the radio, the coach told me to escape to win sprint 1. But then, when he saw the opportunity, the coach told me to try as long as I could.

Although I was very tired after sprint 1, I was still determined to go all the way and the result was a memorable victory. I also thank my teammates, they worked very hard in the back group to stop the opponents."

After the dramatic opening stage, on April 4, the racers will continue to stage 2 from Tuyen Quang city to Hanoi capital with an expected route of 120km.
