Training course for planning cadres of the 14th Central Committee members visited and worked at Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant
The delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The training class had 50 students, including comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ). The delegation was welcomed by representatives of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (NSRP), the unit that manages and operates the plant.
Training course on visit and survey at Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant
Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project is a key national project on Oil and Gas within the strategy and planning of Vietnam's Oil and Gas industry. In which, Petrovietnam contributes 25.1% of capital; IKC (Japan) contributes 35.1%; KPI (Kuwait) contributes 35.1% and MCI (Japan) contributes 4.7%. The plant is located in Nghi Son Economic Zone, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province with a total area of 670ha onshore and 590ha of water surface. The plant officially came into operation in November 2018 with a processing capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil/year with crude oil imported from Kuwait. The plant's technology is modern and advanced with main products being LPG, gasoline, diesel, kerosene/jet fuel, sulfur, polypropylene, benzene, paraxylene, of which the output of gasoline is about 7.5 million tons of products/year.
Field survey training course at Nghi Son Port
Since its commercial operation, NSRP has produced more than 34 million tons of various types of gasoline and oil. With the above designed output, NSRP annually supplies about 35% - 40% of gasoline and oil supply to the domestic market, thereby actively contributing to ensuring domestic supply and national energy security. At the same time, the project has actively contributed to the socio-economic development of the country, especially Thanh Hoa province, and contributed to the industrialization and modernization of the country.

Comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam, said that the petrochemical sector is one of the five core sectors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, in which NSRP Company is one of Petrovietnam's units in this sector. Currently, this is the largest project in Vietnam attracting FDI in the energy sector. Under the direction of the Prime Minister, with the support of Thanh Hoa provincial leaders, Petrovietnam and partners participating in the project have overcome difficulties in the management and operation of the Plant, achieving many positive results, making important contributions to ensuring national energy security, becoming a driving force for socio-economic development in the South Thanh Hoa - North Nghe An region.

Comrade Le Manh Hung emphasized that Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant has a very modern technological configuration, with a deep level of oil and gas processing. Besides oil refining products, the plant's important petrochemical products such as paraxylene, benzene, etc. are all important inputs for the next stages of development of the petrochemical sector.

In the coming time, comrade Le Manh Hung hopes that leaders of Ministries, Branches and localities will continue to pay attention and support Petrovietnam and NSRP in removing difficulties for the project, creating conditions for more effective development and operation.

Comrade Nguyen Duy Bac emphasized that through the visit and field survey at the Plant, a national key project on energy, the officers and students will gain more valuable experience to carry out their assigned tasks.
