The 16th WBPF World Bodybuilding Championship was held from November 11 to 17 at the tourist island of Batam - Indonesia.
Although the strongest force could not be summoned due to injuries or retirements of some athletes, this trip of Vietnamese bodybuilding still carries a lot of hope. 6/10 world champions in 2024 such as Dinh Kim Loan (55 kg female bodybuilding), Pham Van Phuoc (classical bodybuilding, height up to 1.7 m), Ta Thi Ngoc Bich (female physique model, height up to 1.7 m), Tran Hoang Duy Thuan (classical bodybuilding, height up to 1.67 m), Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (classical bodybuilding for women, height up to 1.65 m) and Truong Hoang Long (young bodybuilding, over 75 kg) will shoulder the responsibility of defending the first place of the entire delegation won in Maldives in November 2024.

Notably, the Vietnamese team this time has the return of veteran Pham Van Mach - the "singing bodybuilder" who was a six-time world champion in the 55 kg bodybuilding category. Pham Van Mach now has to choose to participate in tournaments that are suitable for the training regimen of a bodybuilder at the age of nearly 50. He has just competed very successfully in the recent national championship and is actively preparing for the conquest of the 7th world gold medal in his career.
In addition to the above-mentioned veteran faces, the return of athletes who won gold medals in 2023 such as Tran Bao Quoc Vuong (65 kg bodybuilding), Ho Huy Binh (70 kg bodybuilding) or experienced athletes such as Nguyen Van Quang, Pham Ngoc Sy, Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Thanh Tien, Bui Thi Thoa, Tran Anh Vu... can completely change the color of the medal after a year of active training as well as successful testing at the Southeast Asian and Asian tournaments in 2025.
