This is one of the traditional cultural beauties that is still preserved and promoted through many generations of lion and dragon dance lovers.
To open the eyes, the troupes use a brush to dip in vermillion, then dot it on some parts of the lion's body such as: forehead, eyes, ears, mouth, horn, shoulder, legs and tail. Then, tie a red cloth to the lion's horn. The spiritual ritual helps the lion and dragon come back to life and start a new life with the lion troupe, bringing beautiful dances and performances full of luck to everyone.
Blending with the spring colors of the traditional Tet holiday and the echoes of bustling melodies, the vibrant dances of the Lion and Dragon create a joyful atmosphere welcoming the coming of spring, with new vitality and new hope.
The Spring Lantern Festival will take place from January 27 to January 31, 2025 (ie December 28 to the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year).
Thousands of colorful lanterns of various sizes are decorated throughout the Chinese streets of District 5.
