The first Quang Ngai Province Open Journalists' Singing Contest in 2025 is an artistic activity within the series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). Not only a musical playground, the contest is also an opportunity for journalists, those who usually hold pens and operate machines, to sing, express their souls, ideals and professional emotions. From more than 50 registered performances, 17 performances entered the finals and the 10 best performances were selected to perform at the gala night. Each performance has its own nuances, creating an artistic night full of sublimation and pride.
Meritorious Artist, Journalist Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Quang Ngai Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest: We would like to sincerely thank the provincial leaders for their attention and direction! Thank you to the agencies, units, and businesses for your support and companionship. Thank you to the audience for your interest, support, and spreading the message and creating a good effect for the Contest. And especially thank you to the contestants - journalists who carry two fires within themselves: professional fire and artistic fire. The daily work is to be passionate about the spirit of professional fire, creating journalistic works, through writing, voice, and frame. And in the past few days, you have shown your artistic fire, boldly stepping onto the stage to sing songs carrying messages of sincerity, of faith, of hope, and of community connection.
After nearly a month of organizing with many exciting rounds, the contest ended with the awarding ceremony of 22 awards in the categories: Active Award, Consolation Award, Third Prize, Second Prize and First Prize. The outstanding singers not only demonstrated their talents but also spread the love for the profession and life of journalists, cultural officers, armed forces and press agencies in the province.
Musician Tran Xuan Tien , Member of the Vietnam Musicians Association, Head of the Competition Jury : Most of the units invested in their performances. Each performance was carefully and reasonably invested, creative and created beautiful emotions in the hearts of the audience. Secondly, the contestants all performed their songs the best. Some of them handled the songs really delicately and skillfully. And the special thing we want to say here is that in the competition we discovered new elements. There were singers who appeared on this stage for the first time. I think that discovering new elements in the competition is a good thing. Finally, this is a meaningful, colorful, exciting and joyful music playground. That is a great effort of the Organizing Committee.
The first prize of the contest was awarded to contestant Huynh Nhu Phuong, a reporter for Quang Ngai Newspaper, with the mashup “Volunteering and Journalism I Love”. The profound performance, imbued with professionalism and a refined style of expression, won over the judges and the audience.
Reporter Huynh Nhu Phuong, Quang Ngai Newspaper, said: I am very happy and my greatest joy is that the mashup song Tu Nguyen and Nghe Bao Toi Yeu has been recognized and loved by the judges and the audience. I feel happy that the message and feelings I put into this song have reached more people. We journalists come to this profession voluntarily and with love, and from there we commit ourselves, we dedicate ourselves, and sacrifice ourselves for our career.
Two second prizes were awarded to the male and female choir of Quang Ngai Provincial Police with the song “Singing about you - the soldier of Quang Ngai Police”, the song composed by Colonel Vo Van Mai, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, and to independent contestant Phan Thi Khanh Linh with the song “Hope”.
