Drugs are dangerous and devastating to human health.

Báo Thừa Thiên HuếBáo Thừa Thiên Huế12/07/2023

Drugs are introduced into the human body through the following routes: smoking, inhaling, chewing, swallowing, injecting,... causing a state of intoxication, mental confusion, psychotic reactions, damage to the central nervous system causing unstable psychological states, loss of some basic human functions, creating hallucinations, new feelings or reducing pain. Especially recently, crystal meth has been used by a group of young people, thinking that it is stylish, showing class without being addictive,... This is a wrong perception, especially very dangerous.

Drugs, when used repeatedly, will cause dependence or so-called "addiction". If they stop or do not continue using them, the addict will suffer from disorders or so-called "drug withdrawal syndrome" causing severe withdrawal symptoms such as: diarrhea, vomiting, pain, muscle and bone pain, discomfort, chaotic heartbeat, loss of appetite, insomnia, rapid weight loss, etc., causing the addict to suffer unbearable pain and suffering, forcing them to continue using drugs. It can be said that drugs destroy health, make it impossible for people to work and study, and damage the addict's nervous system.

For the drug user, it causes damage to the health of the digestive system, respiratory system, circulatory system, skin diseases, reduces detoxification function, leading to general weakness and reduced labor capacity.

Drug addiction leads to chronic drug poisoning, thin, pale, white eyes, dark lips, ashen skin, staggering gait, emaciated body due to exhaustion or edema due to malnutrition, circadian rhythm disorder, staying up all night and sleeping during the day, health declines significantly. Drug overdose can lead to sudden death.

Drug addicts are often shunned by everyone and gradually become distant from relatives, family and friends, become more selfish and withdrawn, leading to a lack of responsibility towards their family; when they have an addiction, they easily hurt their relatives, making everyone in the family always live in a state of restlessness, anxiety, and guilt because of the addiction.

Drugs also cause a burden on society when the State has to spend thousands of billions of VND each year to eradicate opium poppies, drug addiction treatment for addicts, and prevent, combat and control drugs. Drugs are also the cause of the emergence and increase of domestic crimes that affect security and order (theft, robbery, drug trafficking, human trafficking, terrorism, etc.); they are the cause and conditions for the emergence and development of other social evils (prostitution, gambling, murder, etc.).

Therefore, no one should be curious or try drugs even once, regardless of the type of drug in any form, especially young people. For young people, in order to not have their lives ruined by drugs, they must resolutely stay away from and not associate with bad people related to drugs. Do not store, buy, sell, transport drugs or incite others to participate in any form. Be vigilant so as not to be enticed or enticed. At the same time, care for, encourage, share, and help those who have been addicted, do not discriminate or shun drug addicts.

Finally, actively study to improve your level in all aspects to respond promptly to situations that may arise. Learn about the harmful effects of drugs through mass media, books, and the community to have a correct understanding of the harmful effects of drugs. From there, in each specific case, you can propagate and mobilize everyone to prevent drugs.
