According to the Daily Mail, the Boeing plane, carrying 273 passengers and 8 crew members, suffered an engine fire just minutes after taking off from Corfu airport (Greece) on August 16. At that time, the plane was flying over Corfu port.
Several people on the ground reported hearing a "loud, explosion-like sound" coming from the plane during the incident.
After a while, the plane turned right and turned back to land at Corfu airport - which was on red alert at the time. However, the pilots decided to continue the journey with only one engine. The plane then landed at Brindisi airport, Italy.

According to German television channel RTL, the pilots were forced to change course to Brindisi because engine failure did not allow them to continue the flight to Dusseldorf (Germany) as originally scheduled.
Passengers and crew on board the plane spent the night at a hotel in Brindisi and continued their journey to their destination the following day.
"We apologize for any inconvenience, but the safety of our passengers is our top priority at all times," Condor Airways said in a statement.
Previously, on August 6, a small Beech B200 Super King Air aircraft taking off from Birmingham (UK) had to make an emergency landing at 13:40 due to an emergency incident while flying over Tamworth. The incident caused 3 people to need medical attention.
