With a simple search, reporters easily found dozens of personal accounts and fanpages using MC Lai Van Sam's name and image for many different purposes such as: preaching morality, posting entertainment content, advertising traditional medicine...

Among them, there is a page that posts a series of articles about an eye recovery medicine product with false information such as: Lai Van Sam once advertised this medicine in a VTV program, Lai Van Sam's mother recovered her eyesight thanks to using the medicine...

The posts also contain a lot of unverified information about the origin, medical certification and uses of the above products.

Notably, hundreds of accounts commented: "Dot", "I want to buy this medicine"... Editor Hoang Trang said many acquaintances continuously texted her asking to buy "the medicine advertised by MC Lai Van Sam".

Faced with the above situation, MC Lai Van Sam affirmed that he only uses this Facebook account with the blue tick confirming its owner.

"There are too many people impersonating me with bad intentions. I have never and will never advertise any product or brand. I ask everyone to be alert and avoid being fooled by scammers," he emphasized.

Not long ago, singer and businessman Ngoc Hai - singer Ngoc Son's younger brother, warned of fraud. Specifically, an account using Ngoc Hai's name and image sent messages to some acquaintances with the content "vote for my nephew to compete in a photo model contest" - a familiar scam to hijack users' Zalo accounts.

Previously, many Vietnamese artists such as Hoai Linh, Hong Van, Tran Thanh, Quang Thang, Hieu Hien... cried out because their names were impersonated to advertise, sell products, or worse, scammed; their information and accounts were illegally appropriated.
