MG ZS 2025 from 437 million VND in Southeast Asia, waiting to return to Vietnam?

The Southeast Asian market, specifically the Philippines, has just welcomed the new MG ZS 2025 SUV model with prices ranging from 948,888 - 1,328,888 Pesos (about 437 - 612 million VND).

The new generation MG ZS 2025 SUV was first introduced in the European market in August 2024. After 1 year, this B-size SUV has officially arrived in Southeast Asia, specifically the Philippines.

The MG ZS 2025 for the Philippines has the same dimensions and design as the car sold in Europe. Accordingly, the car has a length of 4,430 mm and a height reduced by 13 mm to 1,635 mm.

This Chinese car model applies a new design language that first appeared on its sibling MG3. In particular, the front of the car stands out with a new grille and a bold front bumper. New LED headlights, integrated with a simple-designed LED daytime running light strip, are also added to the car.

The side area has been adjusted in some areas such as the D-pillar and the wheel rim. Besides that, there are new LED taillights hugging the two corners of the rear of the car, the rear bumper comes with silver covers surrounding the two fake exhaust pipes and a small brake light in the middle.

The car uses standard 17-inch shiny alloy wheels, the new generation MG ZS 2025 higher-end versions will add 18-inch alloy wheels, one-way rear privacy glass...

Inside the MG ZS 2025 is a new interior space with a minimalist but quite stylish design. It seems that the car's interior is inspired by the design of its brother MG One. In the two lower versions, the car is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and manual seat adjustment.

Meanwhile, the highest-end version has a 7.5-inch digital dashboard, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, 6-speaker sound system and heated front seats.

The standard safety equipment of the MG ZS 2025 is quite basic with hill start assist, downhill assist, automatic brake hold, active anti-rollover, reversing camera with guide lines and cruise control system. In the high-end versions, the car is equipped with the MG Pilot package with features such as lane change assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and 360-degree camera.

Under the hood of the 2025 MG ZS in the Philippine market are three engine options. The first is a 1.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 110 horsepower and a maximum torque of 141 Nm, accompanied by an eight-speed simulated CVT automatic transmission.

The second is a 1.5L, turbocharged, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 168 horsepower and a maximum torque of 275 Nm, combined with a seven-speed CVT gearbox. The highest-end version uses a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, combined with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery, creating a total capacity of 197 horsepower, a dedicated 3-speed hybrid gearbox.

In the Southeast Asian market, specifically the Philippines, the new generation MG ZS has 4 versions and prices range from 948,888 - 1,328,888 Pesos (about 437 - 612 million VND).

Over the years, the ZS has become an iconic name and also MG's most successful model since the brand re-emerged in the Philippine market in 2018 thanks to its launch at the right time when the crossover segment exploded.

Now, SAIC Motor Philippines wants to repeat that successful formula with a new generation. The MG ZS is also currently officially distributed in Vietnam but is an old model. It is not clear when the new generation of this B-size SUV will be launched in the Vietnamese market.
