The Times of Israel reported that the leading US technology corporation Microsoft has just denied allegations that the artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing technologies it provides to the Israeli military have been used to target civilians in the Gaza Strip, in the context of the ongoing war with Hamas.
Microsoft acknowledged providing the Israeli Ministry of Defense with software, professional services, Azure cloud services, and Azure AI services, including translation services, and said it assisted in the search and rescue efforts for the Israeli hostages.
In response to the growing criticism, Microsoft said that after an internal and independent review, which included interviews with dozens of employees, it “found no evidence that Microsoft Azure and AI technologies, or any of our other software, have been used to harm people or that the Israeli Ministry of Defense has violated our terms of service or our AI Code of Conduct.”
However, Microsoft also admitted that it does not have access to how customers use its software./.
