The North turns cold and freezing, temperatures drop sharply

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected most of the Northeast, some places in the North Central and Northwest regions.

Today (October 21), cold air continues to affect other places in the North Central region and some places in the Northwest. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 2-3, coastal areas are strong at level 4-5, gusting at level 6-7.

Due to the influence of cold air, today and tomorrow, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, and some places in the northern mountainous regions will be cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions will generally be from 19-22 degrees, especially in the mountainous regions of the North, it will be 16-19 degrees, and in some places in the high mountains, it will be below 14 degrees.

As for the weather in Hanoi , today it will rain in some places, sunny during the day. It will be cold at night and in the morning. The lowest temperature will be 20-21 degrees; the highest will be around 27 degrees.

In the Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi Island), there will be strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 8, rough seas; waves 1.5-3m high. From today, the northern area of the North East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 9, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.

Meanwhile, in the Central region, it will be cloudy with some rain, the temperature will drop slightly, and the weather will be cool. In the Central Highlands and the South, it will be sunny with clouds in the morning and afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Last night, the tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 05) weakened into a low pressure area on the mainland northwest of Hainan Island (China).
