1. Third Prize - The 3rd National Combat Exercise 2024, organized by the Department of Information Security - Ministry of Information and Communications:
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Information and Communications , the Department of Information Security coordinated with the Multimedia Communications Corporation - VTC to successfully organize the 3rd National Combat Exercise in 2024. The exercise took place for 12 days (~2 weeks), starting from 09:00 on November 4, 2024 to 17:00 on November 15, 2024. The closing and summary ceremony was held on December 13, 2024.
At the Closing Ceremony, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security emphasized the importance of the combat exercise: " The combat exercise is like a vaccine, a real attack, but controlled, helping the immune system - here the defense team, to practice and practice protecting systems and services."

The third national exercise in 2024 marks an important milestone with the participation for the first time of international information security organizations, CERTs from ASEAN countries and Japan.
In addition, the breakthrough point of this year's program is that for the first time, it allows unlimited attacks on IP addresses and domain names on the target system, and it is also the first time that attack teams are allowed to deeply penetrate the system, targets and internal network of the governing agency, except for third-party systems outside the scope of management.
This live-fire exercise had 11 attack teams participating from: CYSEEX Information Security Alliance; Cyber Warfare Command; Military Bank; Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Vietcombank; Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank; BKAV Joint Stock Company; FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company; CyRadar Information Security Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Cyber Security Company - VSEC; Lao Computer Emergency Response Center (LaoCERT); National Cyber Security and Cryptography Center of Indonesia (IDSIRTII/CC).
In addition, international observer teams include Japan's National Cyber Security Preparedness and Strategy Center (NISC); Malaysia's National Cyber Security Center (NACSA – Malaysia); Myanmar's National Cyber Security Center (NCSC – Myanmar); Thailand's National Cyber Security Center (NCSA – Thailand); Singapore's Cyber Security Center (CSA).
Team three: CYSEEX Alliance; Cyber Warfare Command, and Cyradar Information Security Joint Stock Company.
MISA Joint Stock Company, representing the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance, has excellently won the 3rd prize, which affirms the capacity and prestige of MISA and the Alliance in the field of Information Security in cyberspace. In addition, this achievement also demonstrates the desire to continue to build a close cooperative relationship with the parties, supporting each other in the work of ensuring information security.
2. Second Prize – National Cyber Security Exercise 2024 organized for the first time by the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Association
On December 17, 2024, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the National Cyber Security Association to organize the first National Cyber Security Drill 2024 with the theme: "Responding to and overcoming APT attacks on important information systems related to national security".
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh, Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Permanent Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association, assessed: “If Vietnam wants to build a new era of prosperous development, it must rely on many factors, including prosperity in cyberspace, and must protect the country's key information systems, such as protecting the central nervous system. However, cyberspace is inherently unsafe and insecure. Ensuring the security of Vietnam's cyberspace is a noble mission of organizations and individuals in the field of cyber security. It is the direct responsibility of the National Cyber Security Steering Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the National Cyber Security Association, the Office of the National Cyber Security Steering Committee, and organizations, businesses, and individuals specializing in cyber security.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Chinh, this is a series of celebrations for National Cyber Security Day. The teams will gain many lessons and experiences through this competition.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Thuy, Director of the National Cyber Security Center of A05, said that the competition has 5 scenarios such as: hackers send malicious code via email to infiltrate organizations and take over user accounts; Hackers exploit vulnerabilities on the electronic information portals of agencies and organizations; Then hackers change the content on these websites. The competing teams must trace the streams and detect and prevent these attacks. In addition, there are backdoor intrusions and data encryption attacks.
41 units including government agencies, police forces, units managing key information systems, banks, and enterprises operating in the field of cyber security were divided into 10 competing teams. The scenario was built based on data from real attacks that have occurred in the past.
Results of the 2024 National Cyber Security Drill:
First Prize: Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB), FPT IS, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture (Agribank) and PA05 Ho Chi Minh City Police.
Second Prize: MISA Joint Stock Company, Room 7 of A05, SCS Cyber Security Joint Stock Company, Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB), Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank).
Third Prize: VPS Securities Joint Stock Company, Command 86 (Ministry of National Defense) Room 7, Department A05, Vietnam Public Commercial Bank (VPcombank), Loc Phat Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank, VETC Automatic Toll Collection Company Limited, NCS Cyber Security Joint Stock Company, Government Cipher Committee.
MISA was honored to receive the second prize overall.
The National Cyber Security Exercise 2024 not only helps teams experience and practice skills to detect and respond to cyber threats effectively, but also increases awareness of security risks.
