As for streamer MisThy, she shared that she cried many times while watching the broadcast episodes of “Vietnamese Family Home”. The female streamer revealed that she often secretly watched the program alone because she did not want anyone to see her tears. MisThy expressed that “Vietnamese Family Home” not only has a profound humanistic meaning when supporting difficult circumstances, but is also a healing program, helping the audience to be more sympathetic, appreciate life and realize that, amidst the challenges of everyday life, they still have many lucky things.
The orphan boy dreams of becoming a teacher near home to take care of his grandparents – his only remaining loved ones.
Nguyen Cong Hau (2014), currently a 6th grade student at Hoa Tan Secondary School, Hoa Thanh Ward, Ca Mau Province, is one of the situations that moved many people in episode 157 of "Vietnamese Family Home". His parents divorced when he was born, and Hau followed his mother to live with his grandparents. Not long after, his mother passed away from heart disease, leaving him in the care of Mr. Pham Be Linh (1952) and Mrs. Le Thi Ha (1951). They were over 70 years old, in poor health, and had to raise Hau and another grandchild at the same time. Mr. Linh suffered from cirrhosis, Mrs. Ha suffered from bronchitis and stomach pain, and their lives were precarious, relying only on three naturally raised shrimp ponds, earning only a few hundred thousand dong every few months.

The family lived mainly on the little help of his uncles and aunts. The daily meals were simple with boiled vegetables and soy sauce, the most “luxury” dish for Hau was fried eggs, which were delicious, cheap, and economical for his grandparents. Despite the difficulties, he still persevered in his studies, going to school every day on an old bicycle that was broken in many places but he never once asked for anything.
Her eyes were full of love for Hau, as if she wanted to make up for all the losses he had experienced.
Hau lost her mother at a young age and always missed her and dreamed of seeing her again. Her grandmother still kept her old sweater – a keepsake of her daughter, as a way to console her loss. Her grandparents were her only support, and she dreamed of becoming a teacher and having a stable job to take care of her grandparents in their old age.
Grandparents are Hau's last support, and Hau is the reason for grandparents to continue to struggle every day.
Witnessing Hau's situation, MC Thanh Thao was moved because her son was the same age as him. The image of the boy lacking parental love made the female MC choke up. Streamer MisThy shed tears when hearing Hau share that he only likes to eat eggs because "they are both delicious and cheap", admiring his understanding. Actor Thai Vu was silent before the determination of his grandparents, at the same time the actor sent words of encouragement to Hau to study hard to fulfill his dream, to become the pride of his family.
The orphan girl walks 40 minutes every day to school and collects scrap metal to earn money to help her grandparents.
Vo Thi Nhu Quynh (2015), a 5th grade student at Tan Thanh Primary School, Truong Thanh Commune, Can Tho City . Her mother left when Nhu Quynh was only 1 year old, she grew up in the love of her father, brother and grandparents. Tragedy struck in 2024, when her father passed away from nasopharyngeal cancer. Before that, her father worked as a motorbike taxi driver, catching crabs and snails to support the family. For Quynh, missing her father has never faded. She said that she still often dreams of her father picking her up to go to school like when she was a child, but regrets that the way to school is longer than ever.
Even though she had to grow up too soon, Nhu Quynh still kept her clear eyes and precious filial piety.
Như Quỳnh’s brother, only 16 years old, is in 10th grade so he cannot help financially . Như Quỳnh’s grandfather, Mr. Vo Van Toan, has pneumonia, often coughs and has difficulty breathing, while her grandmother, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thuy, has heart disease, arthritis, and has difficulty walking. However, they still try to catch crabs and fish to make a living. The family is living in a house built with support from the State, but after a heavy rain, the roof was blown off and the kitchen had to be temporarily covered to cook.
Despite the deprivation, Nhu Quynh is still obedient and understanding. Every day, she walks more than 40 minutes to school, giving her only bicycle to her brother because she feels sorry for him having to wake up early to go to school far away. On the way home, she collects scrap metal to sell, contributing some money to help her grandparents. She said she just hopes to study well so she can have a stable job and take care of her grandparents in their old age.
When talking about her mother, Nhu Quynh's eyes welled up with tears. She had never known her mother, only met her once when she was 8 years old, but her mother did not hug her. "I don't know if my mother loved me, why did she leave me?", the little girl said with sobs.
After school, Nhu Quynh quietly walked home, picking up plastic bottles to help her elderly grandparents.
MC Thanh Thao was so moved that she could not hold back her tears when she heard that sharing. The female MC said that she was both heartbroken and admired Nhu Quynh's understanding, despite her young age, who knew how to sacrifice and take care of her family early. On television, Thanh Thao sent a message to the child's mother: "If possible, please come back to visit your child, do not let your child suffer because of lack of love."
Streamer MisThy also shed tears, gently comforting: “Mom may have many reasons to leave, but don’t ever think that it’s your fault that she doesn’t love you. It’s not your fault. Even though mom isn’t around, you still have the love of your grandparents and everyone else – that’s very precious. Love your grandparents, your brother and yourself more.”
Actor Thai Vu was moved to hug Nhu Quynh, the image reminded him of his daughter and made him feel even more clearly the resilience of the orphaned child.
Actor Thai Vu could not hide his emotions when he heard Nhu Quynh talk about meals that consisted of only white rice and soy sauce. The actor was silent, shed tears and hugged the girl, saying that the image reminded him of his daughter at home, but the difference was that little Nhu Quynh had to be independent too early...
