Mitsubishi Elevance launched - "luxury" electric SUV for travel enthusiasts

Mitsubishi Motors has just launched the Elevance Concept – an electric crossover that aims to combine the versatility of a high-chassis vehicle with high-end amenities for passengers.

Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled its all-new electric concept car, the Elevance, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 (JMS 2025). Inspired by the theme of “Forever Adventure,” the Elevance Concept represents Mitsubishi’s vision of a future of unlimited mobility.

The exterior of the Elevance has a lot in common with the company's recent models such as the XForce or Destinator, thanks to the distinctive Dynamic Shield design language.

The sturdy, powerful appearance and angular details help the electric Mitsubishi Elevance Concept easily adapt from modern urban areas to complex terrain.

The interior is a key highlight, aiming for a luxurious and connected experience. The car has a flexible 6-seat configuration, in which the front seats can rotate 180 degrees to create a common living space.

Quilted leather seats, specially designed headrests and a minimalist dashboard create a relaxing feeling. Mitsubishi also integrates an intuitive AI assistant on the steering wheel and digital dashboard, enhancing interaction between the driver and the vehicle.

In terms of operation, the vehicle uses a four-wheel drive system with four independent electric motors, accompanied by Super All-Wheel Control technology - one of Mitsubishi's traditional strengths.

The S-AWC all-wheel drive system uses in-wheel motors with Active Yaw Control at the rear to deliver maximum traction to each wheel.

The car even has AI driving assistance displayed on the infotainment system and on the steering wheel, which analyzes road and vehicle conditions to suggest driving modes and enhance safety.

Although its commercialization potential is unclear, the Elevance Concept shows Mitsubishi's direction in redefining the future SUV experience - where it's not just about moving but also about enjoying every moment on every journey.

This is just a concept, but it seems Mitsubishi intends to develop the Elevance into reality. The design could inspire a future model, like the upcoming 2027 Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero.
