Opening of Port No. 4 - Bac Cua Viet Port Area

The Vietnam Maritime Administration (Ministry of Construction) has just decided to announce the opening of Port No. 4 - Bac Cua Viet Wharf Area, Quang Tri Province to receive Vietnamese and foreign passenger ships operating on domestic routes, anchoring and performing other related maritime services.

Accordingly, the port is located in Cua Viet town, Gio Linh district. The port has a sharp, 70 m long structure, the water area in front of the wharf has a design depth of -2.3 m (nautical system). At the time of announcement, the water area in front of the wharf has a depth of -1.1 m, the connecting water area has a depth of -2.1 m. The port receives passenger ships with a capacity of 200 passengers or with parameters suitable for the port's reception capacity.

The Vietnam Maritime Administration assigns the Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority to manage the specialized state of maritime in the above-mentioned port area and collect fees according to the provisions of law.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province specifically announces the conditions for exploitation and organizes the exploitation and operation of the port for the right purpose, ensuring maritime safety and security, fire and explosion prevention, environmental pollution prevention and is allowed to collect fees according to the law. Organize dredging of the connecting water area and the water area in front of the port to reach the designed depth. During the exploitation process, based on the depth according to the maritime notice, coordinate with the Thua Thien Hue Maritime Port Authority to mobilize ships to enter and leave the port to ensure safety.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho Van Hoan, this is the first tourist seaport of Quang Tri province. The Provincial People's Committee has issued a policy to assign the People's Committee of Con Co island district to receive, manage and exploit Cua Viet tourist port.

Cua Viet Tourist Port is an important component, invested from the Tourism Infrastructure Development Project to support comprehensive growth in the Greater Mekong Sub-region, Phase 2 - Quang Tri Province Sub-project, contributing to ensuring facilities and port infrastructure to access the Con Co island sea tourism route.
