Following the representative of the Bo Trach District Military Command, we visited the family of Mr. Truong Loi and Mrs. Pham Thi Thuong in Thanh Sen Village 4 (Phuc Trach Commune, Bo Trach). They are self-employed workers with no stable source of income, so the family's economy is very difficult. They have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl, of which the second son, Truong Thanh Quyet, will join the military in 2023. Recognizing the difficult circumstances of the family, the Bo Trach District Military Command supported a cow, helping the family improve their lives, so that Quyet could confidently join the army.
Up to now, after nearly 3 years, the cow supported by the Bo Trach District Military Command has been well cared for and developed by Mrs. Pham Thi Thuong's family. Sharing with us, Mrs. Pham Thi Thuong happily said: "My family is very grateful to the Bo Trach District Military Command and the benefactors, the cow has helped my family have a new source of livelihood. In 2024, the cow gave birth to a calf and is currently pregnant with a second calf. Quyet has now completed his military service and is studying the language to go abroad to work. My husband and I sold the calf and provided additional funding for him to go to work."
After saying goodbye to Mr. Truong Loi and Mrs. Pham Thi Thuong, we visited the family of Mr. Vo Tuan Thin. In a small garden in Dong Thanh village (Ly Nam commune, Bo Trach), Mr. Thin was feeding the cows. His family's circumstances were very difficult, his wife died early, he was a single father raising two children. The family's main source of income depended on his meager wages, so it was extremely difficult from day to day.
Despite the circumstances, Mr. Thin still raised his children to be obedient and study properly. With the desire to train himself and fulfill the sacred duty of a citizen to his homeland and country, after graduating from high school, Mr. Thin's eldest son, Vo Tuan Vu, volunteered to join the military service. After completing his military service, Vu went to work abroad. At the same time, Vu also encouraged his younger brother, Vo Tuan Long Nhat, to continue volunteering to join the military service.
From 2021-2025, the Bo Trach District Military Command has coordinated with organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to call for support of 50 cows and 4 breeding pigs for young people in especially difficult circumstances to perform military service, with a total amount of 607 million VND. Currently, these cows are growing and developing well, of which nearly half have reproduced and produced the second generation of breeding pigs. |
Mr. Vo Tuan Thin proudly said: “I am very happy that my children have grown up, know how to think, and choose the right path to follow. I fully support their participation in the military service, because there they can train themselves and become more mature before entering the real world.”
In 2022, thanks to his brother's "inspiration", Vo Tuan Long Nhat volunteered to join the military service. During this time, Mr. Thin's health was not good, he was often sick and had to go to the hospital, and the expenses were very high. However, he still encouraged Long Nhat to feel secure to join the army.
In order to promptly care for and share the difficulties of the new soldier Long Nhat's family, the Military Command of Bo Trach District supported a cow to support the family's livelihood. Up to now, the cow has given birth to a calf over 3 months old. Long Nhat has also completed his military service and is studying at the reserve officer class.
“I would like to thank the Military Command of Bo Trach District for creating favorable conditions to support my family with the breeding cow. I will continue to take good care of the cows to develop the herd, increase income, and improve my life,” Mr. Vo Tuan Thin shared.
In the past 5 years (2021-2025), as scheduled, before the annual military handover ceremony, the Bo Trach District Military Command coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to organize activities to support livestock models for young people in especially difficult circumstances before they leave for military service. Along with that, the District Military Command and related units and localities also coordinated to support families in building and repairing barns, providing guidance on livestock raising, care, and disease prevention for livestock, etc.
