Bo Trach: Proactive solutions to prevent drowning for children

 

From the beginning of 2025 until now, in Bo Trach district, there have been 2 tragic drowning incidents, causing 3 children to die. This is an alarming number, especially when the summer vacation is approaching. The causes of drowning incidents are mostly due to children not knowing how to swim, lacking knowledge and skills to prevent drowning; lack of management and supervision by adults for children living in unsafe environments...

Equipping children with water safety skills is always a concern of Bo Trach district.

To reduce the number of deaths due to child labor, Vice Chairman of Bo Trach District People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hong said that the district has issued an official dispatch directing communes and towns to promptly implement measures to reduce the number of deaths due to child labor; in which, special attention is paid to propaganda work, raising awareness and responsibility of the community and each family.

 

The district directed the Departmentof Education and Training to coordinate with relevant sectors, units and organizations to conduct training sessions, equipping children with knowledge and skills of safety in the water environment. The Department also coordinated with sectors and local authorities to regularly inspect and detect areas at high risk of drowning to promptly warn; well organize the handover of children and students to their families and localities before the summer break...
