Reopening commercial flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa

Kinhtedothi - From March 23, Russian national airline AeroFlot will reopen direct flights from Moscow to Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa) with a frequency of 3 flights/week. This is the first commercial flight from Russia after many years of suspension.

At around 9:30 a.m. on March 23, flight SU294 of the Russian national airline AeroFlot landed at Cam Ranh International Airport, carrying 292 passengers. This was the first commercial flight departing from Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow City, bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa after many years of suspension.

In the coming time, Russian national airline Aeroflot will operate the Moscow - Cam Ranh route using Airbus A350-900 (capacity of 315 passengers) and A330-300 (capacity of 295 passengers) with a frequency of 3 flights/week.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the direct flight time from Moscow to Cam Ranh is only about 10-11 hours, helping Russian tourists easily come to Khanh Hoa without having to transit through other countries.

Restoring the flight route from Moscow to Khanh Hoa not only shortens travel time but also reduces airfare costs, creating favorable conditions to promote growth in the Russian tourist market.

In addition, the reopening of the flight route from Moscow to Cam Ranh not only meets the wishes of tourists but also contributes to promoting trade and bilateral cooperation between Russia and Vietnam. Previously, on March 17, 2025, tourism businesses exploiting the Russian market reopened charter flights from Irkutsk City to Cam Ranh and in the coming time will continue to operate charter flights from Russian cities to Cam Ranh International Airport, including: Ekaterinburg, Kabarovsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Krasnojarsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveschensk.

Russian tourists stay for 5 nights or more, mainly in 3-5 star hotels and follow package tours to famous tourist attractions in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

Regarding the exploitation of the Russian market, from March 9 to March 15, the working delegation of Khanh Hoa province had a working program and tourism promotion activities in the Russian Federation, including a working session with representatives of the Russian national airline Aeroflot.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss in detail the plan to restore direct flights from Moscow to Cam Ranh International Airport. At the meeting, the leader of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee emphasized the importance of opening direct flights in promoting tourism between the two countries.
