A Quang Tri resident caught an eel measuring 1.2m long and weighing 14kg.

For the past 2 days, netizens in Quang Tri province have been paying attention to a "giant" eel that a shop owner bought from a fisherman.

On the afternoon of February 9, Mr. Truong Van Hoai - owner of the Gui que xuong pho shop in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province confirmed that he is the owner of the "giant" eel that has attracted the attention of netizens.

According to Mr. Hoai, on the afternoon of February 8, he encountered a Van Kieu ethnic person, residing in Ba Long commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province, catching a "giant" eel on the Ba Long river.

Mr. Hoai immediately asked to buy it. The eel was 1.2m long, weighed more than 14kg, and had a maximum diameter of 20cm. Mr. Hoai bought it for more than 10 million VND.

"The fisherman used a bamboo hook. I have never seen such a big eel in my life, so I decided to buy it to sell and enjoy," said Mr. Hoai.
