Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) has just announced a list of typical literary and artistic works after the country's reunification.
The 50 honored works include: 14 literary works, 18 theatrical works, 12 musical works and 6 dance works.
14 outstanding literary works: The Sorrow of War (Bao Ninh), The Land of Many People and Ghosts (Nguyen Khac Truong), The Distant Time (Le Luu), The Wharf Without a Husband (Duong Huong), Those Who Go to the Sea (Thanh Thao), Reed Grass (Nguyen Minh Chau), The Water God's Daughter (Nguyen Huy Thiep), Endless Field (Nguyen Ngoc Tu). These are all works that have shaped the face of contemporary Vietnamese literature.

In the Theater category, 18 works were recognized, of which the most notable were: Red Rain by writer Chu Lai. On stage, he shared his regret that many of his deceased colleagues no longer had the opportunity to directly receive the award. The author said that most of the public knew Red Rain through films and novels, but few people remembered that this was a well-written stage script. "I appreciate the fact that the work was adapted into a good, artistic play." Chu Lai said emotionally.
Mr. Chu Lai added that through historical works that are loved by many people, it can be affirmed that the Vietnamese people have never turned their backs on the topic of war. It is not that this topic is old, but how we develop, deepen and renew it.
In the music field, 12 works were honored, including many familiar songs such as Four Spring Road (Do Nhuan), Spring in Ho Chi Minh City (Xuan Hong), The country is full of joy (Hoang Ha). Musician Tran Tien expressed his happiness when the Homeland Melody was recognized, and said he would donate all the prize money to support the people of Central Vietnam.

The dance field recorded six elaborate dance dramas, including Ballet Kieu (Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh - Nguyen Phuc Hung), Orchid on Truong Bon Peak (Nguyen Thi Hien) and Love Story of the Country (Vu Viet Cuong - Tran Kim Quy).
From nearly 200 nominations, the council selected 50 outstanding works to honor, each author receiving 30 million VND. Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy hopes that these awards will continue to inspire creativity, promote many new works depicting the portrait of Vietnamese people in the new era, and at the same time contribute to honoring the lasting values of the nation.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also launched a new phase of the creative program Living Forever with Time (2026–2030), aiming for works rich in humanity, deeply reflecting contemporary life.
