Due to the impact of thunderstorms at noon on September 30, some flights arriving at Noi Bai International Airport had to wait to land. Many flights even had to divert to other airports to wait for more favorable weather conditions.

"Up to now, 11 flights to Noi Bai Airport have had to change landing directions. In addition, the operations of airlines may also be affected in a chain reaction," said a representative of Noi Bai International Airport.

Noi Bai International Airport recommends that passengers regularly monitor information from the airline they choose to update flight status and receive timely support.

The largest airport in the North also hopes to receive sympathy and understanding from passengers in this unforeseen weather situation.

Previously, according to statistics from the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), from September 26 to 29, storm No. 10 directly impacted flight operations in the two flight information regions of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Hanoi FIR and Ho Chi Minh City FIR).

Specifically, on September 26, 42 flights changed routes. On September 27, 181 flights changed routes; at Da Nang International Airport, 5 flights had to land at the alternate airport, 30 flights were on hold, and one flight was canceled due to substandard weather.

On September 28, 92 flights had to change routes, including Da Nang, Phu Bai, Dong Hoi, and Tho Xuan, which had to temporarily close their airports for several hours, resulting in a total of nearly 100 flights being canceled. By 3 p.m. on September 29, only one flight had to change routes due to the impact of storm No. 10.

“Despite the serious impact, safety assurance is still absolutely maintained. People, assets, technical equipment systems and flight operations infrastructure are all safe,” the VATM leader emphasized.
