A blood culture test determined that he was infected with multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) – a dangerous type of bacteria that is highly resistant to many common antibiotics.

Dr. Huy warned: “This is a typical consequence of corticoid abuse in the community, especially through folk remedies of unknown origin and unquantified dosage. Long-term use of corticoids not only causes endocrine failure but also disrupts the immune system, causing severe infections and many dangerous complications.

The Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases regularly receives patients who buy drugs of unknown origin online to treat arthritis, diabetes, and hepatitis and are hospitalized in a "near-death" situation. Many people, after using fake oriental medicine for a period of time, have yellow skin and severe liver failure.

Through the old man's case, Dr. Huy recommends that people absolutely do not arbitrarily use long-term painkillers without being examined by a doctor. Drugs that "feel better immediately after taking them" but have unknown ingredients and do not have a prescription only bring immediate effects, while they can silently destroy hormones and immunity, leading to unpredictable consequences when the disease breaks out.
