In the context of a volatile job market, programmers and technology engineers are establishing themselves as the most sought-after group of professionals.

This has been somewhat clearly demonstrated in the 2024-2025 Job Market Report conducted by Top CV.

Unlike the non-IT group (positions unrelated to technology), IT and software workers have higher job stability, demonstrating carefulness and a focus on maintaining sustainability.

Despite recent economic fluctuations that have shaken many industries, the IT and software workforce has maintained high stability, with 35.66% of those surveyed stating they have no intention of changing jobs.

Many businesses have adopted multitasking as a way to restructure their workforce. However, this is increasing dissatisfaction among IT workers, with the rate currently reaching 94.12%.

The report indicates that inadequate compensation is the leading reason for IT and software workers leaving their jobs (34.1%).

The highly competitive environment in the industry, particularly the entry of financially backed startups, also contributes to increased pressure to retain IT personnel.

The IT industry remains a "promising land" with many potential opportunities, especially in terms of income. Basically, IT/software interns will earn between 3-5 million VND. Employees with less than one year of experience can earn between 7-11 million VND.

IT/software technicians with 1-3 years of experience will earn between 10-20 million VND. Specialists (with over 3 years of experience) will earn between 16-24.5 million VND.

At higher levels, team leaders will earn between 19-35 million VND, while managers or department heads will have salaries ranging from 27-52 million VND.

One of the factors attracting young people to pursue a career in IT - software is the attractive income. In the software and application development field, web programmers with less than one year of experience will earn between 10.8 and 17.5 million VND. Those with more than five years of experience will earn between 30 and 47 million VND.

For game developers, salaries range from 9.5 to 14.4 million VND if they have less than one year of experience. Their salaries will range from 30 to 47 million VND if they have more than five years of experience.

The system administration, network, and security fields have slightly lower salaries. The starting salary for a network engineer ranges from 5.7 to 10.5 million VND. With 3-5 years of experience, the salary for this position can increase to 14-19 million VND.

Security specialists typically have starting salaries ranging from 7-12 million VND. If they perform well and stay in the industry for over 5 years, their salaries can increase to 25.7-37.7 million VND.

In the data science field, positions such as data specialist, artificial intelligence (AI) engineer, and AI labeling technician have starting salaries ranging from 9-15 million VND. Engineers with 5 years or more of experience can expect salaries of around 30-50 million VND.

Besides salary, IT professionals are also attracted by benefits such as remote work options. Freelancing also draws IT professionals who previously worked domestically to work for foreign companies.

AI assistants will redefine many jobs in 2025. Businesses will increasingly build workflows that are automated by AI assistants. This is one of the prominent technology trends of 2025.
