In a volatile labor market, programmers and technology engineers are asserting their position as the most sought-after group of personnel in the market.

This has been partly demonstrated through the 2024-2025 Recruitment Market Report conducted by Top CV.

Unlike the Non-IT group (positions not related to technology), the group of workers working in IT - software has higher stability in work, shows caution and focuses on maintaining sustainability.

Despite recent economic turmoil that has shaken many industries, the IT-software workforce remains highly stable, with 35.66% of those surveyed saying they have no intention of changing jobs.

Many businesses have adopted multitasking as a way to restructure their workforce. However, this is increasing the dissatisfaction rate among IT workers, which is currently up to 94.12%.

The report shows that inadequate total compensation is the leading reason why IT - software workers leave their jobs (34.1%).

The highly competitive environment in the industry, especially the entry of financially backed startups, also contributes to the pressure to retain IT personnel.

The IT industry is still a “promised land” with potential opportunities, especially in terms of income. Basically, IT - software interns will have salaries ranging from 3-5 million VND. Employees with less than 1 year of experience will have salaries ranging from 7-11 million.

IT - software staff with 1-3 years of experience will have a salary of 10-20 million. Specialists (over 3 years of experience) have a salary ranging from 16-24.5 million.

In higher positions, team leaders will have salaries from 19-35 million, while managers or department heads have salaries from 27-52 million.

One of the factors that attracts young people to pursue the IT - software field is the attractive income. In the field of software and application development, web programmers with less than 1 year of experience will have a salary ranging from 10.8-17.5 million VND. If they have more than 5 years of experience, their salary will range from 30-47 million VND.

For game developers, their salary ranges from 9.5-14.4 million VND if they have less than 1 year of experience. Their salary will range from 30-47 million VND if they have more than 5 years of experience.

Slightly lower in salary is the system administration, network and security group. The starting salary of a network engineer will range from 5.7-10.5 million. If you have 3-5 years of experience, the salary of this position can improve to 14-19 million VND.

For security specialists, their starting salary ranges from 7-12 million. If they do well and stay in the industry for more than 5 years, the salary of this group of workers can increase to 25.7-37.7 million VND.

In the data industry, positions such as data specialist, artificial intelligence (AI) engineer, AI labeler have starting salaries ranging from 9-15 million VND. For engineers with 5 years of experience or more, this group will have salaries ranging from 30-50 million.

In addition to salary, IT workers are also attracted by benefits such as remote working. Freelance jobs also attract IT workers who used to work domestically to work for foreign companies.

AI assistants will redefine many jobs in 2025. Businesses will increasingly build workflows that are automatically operated by AI assistants. This is one of the prominent technology trends of 2025.
