According to a VNA reporter in Japan, the Vietnamese version of the music video (MV) Blue Light Yokohama has just been widely introduced, attracting attention when Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji performed the famous Japanese song in Vietnamese for the first time.
This is a special cultural diplomacy music project, implemented by Kanagawa province in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Association of Traditional Vietnamese Arts and Culture in Japan (BETORAKU) and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Alumni Association in Japan (BKS).
The song Blue Light Yokohama, which was a big hit in Japan in the 1960s and is associated with the image of the port city of Yokohama, was chosen as the foundation for the project with the desire to bring Japanese J-pop music closer to Vietnamese audiences.
Governor Kuroiwa's direct performance of the song in Vietnamese demonstrated his efforts to promote cultural exchange and appreciation for the increasingly strong relationship between the two countries.
The Vietnamese version performed by Governor Kuroiwa is symbolic, showing the cultural exchange between the two countries through a meticulous and emotional artistic product.
The MV was filmed at many iconic locations in Yokohama such as Minato Mirai 21 area, Nihon Avenue, Kanagawa Prefecture City Hall rooftop and Yamashita Park.
The image of a modern, rich-in-identity city combined with music familiar to the Japanese public creates a product that is not only artistic but also has local promotional value, introducing Kanagawa to Vietnamese friends in a subtle and intimate way.
Over the years, Governor Kuroiwa Yuji has always been known as a person with special affection for Vietnam. Since 2015, he has initiated and promoted the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa (Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa) - one of the largest Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange events in Japan, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year and becoming an important bridge between the two countries' communities.
The Governor also directly participated in many cultural exchange activities, from enjoying Vietnamese cuisine, visiting traditional stalls to interacting with Vietnamese youth and students.
Many of his daily moments at Vietnamese events, such as participating in cultural experiences and art exchanges, have created a close, sincere image with deep understanding for the Vietnamese community in Japan.
In addition to cultural activities, Governor Kuroiwa also maintained many working visits to Vietnam to expand cooperation between Kanagawa and Vietnamese localities in many fields such as economy, tourism, education and people-to-people exchange.
The connections built over many years have contributed to elevating the relationship between the two sides, creating a solid foundation for new cooperation projects.
The Vietnamese version of MV Blue Light Yokohama is considered a meaningful milestone, continuing to affirm the spirit of friendship, mutual respect and the desire to foster Vietnam-Japan relations through creative, close and emotional cultural activities./.
