Khanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station has just announced an exceptionally large flood on Dinh Ninh Hoa River. Accordingly, the flood on Dinh Ninh Hoa River is rising. The water level at 1 p.m. on November 19, on Dinh Ninh Hoa River at Duc My station was 17.94m, 0.44m above alert level 3, and at Ninh Hoa hydrological station it was 6.29m, 0.59m above alert level 3.
"It is forecasted that at 12 noon on November 19, Da Ban Lake will discharge 160.00m3/s, Suoi Trau Lake will discharge 192.83m3/s, EaKrongRou Lake will discharge 100m3/s. If the lakes continue to discharge combined with the forecasted rainfall in the Dinh Ninh Hoa river basin, which is likely to reach 100-200m, in some places over 250mm/24 hours, then in the next 24 hours, the flood on Dinh Ninh Hoa river will continue to rise and the flood peak is likely to reach above alert level 3 by 0.6 - 1.0m. If the flood discharge of the lakes increases, the flood peak on Dinh Ninh Hoa river at Ninh Hoa station may be equivalent to the historical flood in 1986 (6.58m)," Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warned.
Warning of possible flooding in the following wards/communes: Ninh Hoa, Nam Ninh Hoa, Bac Ninh Hoa, Dong Ninh Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Tri, Hoa Thang... of Khanh Hoa province, the area is likely to continue to spread. Maximum flooding level: From 1.5 to 2.5m, in low-lying areas the flooding may be deeper.
Beware of the risk of flash floods and landslides that may occur in mountainous areas; heavy rains and floods affecting the safety of reservoirs; flooding in downstream areas, riverside areas, and urban areas in the downstream area of Dinh Ninh Hoa River, Khanh Hoa Province. Pay attention to safety when traveling through spillways.
