Thai Thuy Linh's album vol.5 "Golden Jazz" includes CDs 1 and 2 and a free USB. In CD 1, Thai Thuy Linh performs the songs: "A lifetime of loving you" (Tran Thien Thanh), "Lonely lover" (Dai Phuong Trang), "Sunset train" (Minh Ky & Hoai Linh), "Dance hall night" (Anh Bang), "Night hamlet" (Pham Dinh Chuong), "Sang ngang" (Do Le), "60 years of life" (Y Van).
CD2 includes 8 songs: "When in love" (Phuong Linh), "Afternoon sun" (Le Trong Nguyen), "Fate" (Song Ngoc), "Sea of love" (Lam Phuong), "Love is a silk thread" (Anh Bang), "Alone love" (Lam Phuong), "Sad city" (Lam Phuong), "People on the street" (Anh Viet Thu - arranged by Quyen Thien Dac).
Thai Thuy Linh shared that she chose songs for the album based on the criteria of classic songs in her own memories, such as the song "Love alone" that she listened to throughout her childhood, associated with memories of her beloved father. Her father loved bolero and listened to it every day, so this has been deeply ingrained in the singer's memory. Besides, there are songs like "A lifetime of love for you" that were once a "sedative" for Thai Thuy Linh and her close friends during the Covid-19 pandemic...
However, to have the album “Golden Jazz” with 15 songs, Thai Thuy Linh and musician Nguyen Quang carefully selected each song to include in the album, because not all golden music songs are suitable for the jazz space. The female singer wants the audience to see a clear change, even if it is “old wine” in a “new bottle”, she wants it to be a natural freshness, not forced.
“I have been listening to bolero music since I was born, from my father’s cassette. When I was young or young, I also had prejudices against bolero music. But, when I grew up, I understood more about the feelings and stories conveyed and shared by the author in each song, so I “absorbed”, felt more deeply and loved it more. I am sure that I am making a bolero that no one has done before” - Thai Thuy Linh said.
The album “Golden Jazz” was made from Thai Thuy Linh’s love for bolero songs, and is also a gift for her late father. Thai Thuy Linh is sure that when her father knows she has released an album, he will love it.
Not only that, “Golden Jazz” also affirms a new mark in Thai Thuy Linh’s career when she moves into a musical field that is somewhat opposite to her previous image. With “Golden Jazz”, the audience will see that Thai Thuy Linh has completely overcome the prejudice that her voice is only suitable for Pop-Rock. Thai Thuy Linh’s “Golden Jazz” carries the familiar musical personality of Thai Thuy Linh: distinct, difficult to mix and anyone who listens will easily get… “addicted”.
Regarding the "tailor-made" arrangements for Thai Thuy Linh, musician Nguyen Quang admitted that he "received a difficult assignment" and he had a period of "locking himself up" to think about what to do with the songs that were so familiar to everyone. The spirit of the album "Golden Jazz", according to musician Nguyen Quang, is: "Jazz has an improvisational nature, I set up the framework and then everyone played freely in the sections without any framework. The important thing is that in the album there is a dialogue between Thai Thuy Linh's voice and the instruments of saxophone, guitar, trumpet, drums, backing groups...".
In the album, Thai Thuy Linh also had an impressive collaboration with Jazz artist Quyen Thien Dac. This was the first time the two collaborated and especially Quyen Thien Dac even agreed to... appear on the cover of the album "Jazz Vang".
“Quyen Thien Dac is a very special person. When he agreed to make an album with me, I officially had a close friend. We officially met at the beginning of 2025, but only started the official project half a year later. The more I work with him, the more I respect and admire him for his talent and artistic qualities,” Thai Thuy Linh shared.
Many artists and directors were surprised by the transformation of "Golden Jazz" through the voice of Thai Thuy Linh and the arrangement of musician Nguyen Quang.
Singer, Producer Ngoc Cham, Director of Golden Age, shared that she was especially surprised when she heard Thai Thuy Linh sing Golden Music in the style of “Golden Jazz”. Thai Thuy Linh admitted that this was the first time she had made such a complicated album. Thai Thuy Linh was in Hanoi , musician Nguyen Quang was in Saigon, the two patiently traveled back and forth, exchanged ideas, tried it out on the guitar, and recorded it with the band until the fourth time before officially recording and the fifth time before completing it.
Therefore, it can be said that this is the album with the longest production time and the most expensive in Thai Thuy Linh's career. Launching a truly new and pioneering music product, but not afraid of "brickbats" but only happy because she can do what she likes in the most free and emotional way.
