Especially in the historic flood that is taking place in the South Central and Central Highlands provinces, Dong Nai province not only provides financial and material support but also sends forces and vehicles to participate in rescue and support people to overcome the disaster. Not stopping there, in many localities in the province, Party committees, authorities and mass organizations are continuing to take more meaningful actions to stand side by side with people in natural disaster areas.

Ms. Doan Thi Hoa (from Ninh Phuoc commune, Khanh Hoa province, currently living in Trang Dai ward, Dong Nai province) has been sitting on "fire" these past few days when witnessing the image of her hometown Ninh Phuoc where she was born and many other places in the South Central and Central Highlands submerged in fierce floods. She shared: "This year I am nearly 50 years old but I have never witnessed my peaceful hometown having such fierce floods and so much damage."

During the rainy season, it is difficult and inconvenient to travel, and it is impossible to return to her hometown, but Ms. Doan Thi Hoa still has her own way to return to her birthplace. On the afternoon of November 22, after finishing her shift at Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province), she went to the Trang Dai Ward Cultural House with everyone to wash dong leaves, banana leaves, and wrap banh chung and banh tet until morning to give to compatriots facing difficulties in the flood.

Ms. Doan Thi Hoa emotionally shared: “As much fun as wrapping banh chung and banh tet during Tet, I am just as sad today, unable to hold back my tears. I, like everyone else, just hope that our people in the flood-affected areas will quickly overcome the flood and soon rebuild their normal peaceful lives.”

Although not born in the Central region, Tran Van Son in Trang Dai ward these days shares the same grief and loss with his fellow countrymen in the Central region during the flood season. Expressing his feelings for his fellow countrymen in a concrete way, he and many people in the neighborhood encouraged each other to donate necessities to send to provide emergency aid to the people. Over the past few days, he has put aside many of his family's chores to participate in fundraising activities, preparing necessities to send to the flood-affected areas, launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Trang Dai ward.

Mr. Tran Van Son shared: “I still remember clearly the memory of 4 years ago, when Dong Nai province was ravaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, all activities were blocked. At that time, my family received a bag of rice, along with green vegetables, eggs, dried fish, and white salt from the people of the Central region sent in support. Now the people of the Central region are struggling in the fierce flood, the gratitude that the people of the Central region gave my family nearly 5 years ago seems to come flooding back, I really feel the pain of my people, I want to do everything I can to share this great loss of my people”.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Trang Dai Ward, Phan Quang Tuan, shared: This year's stormy season has been harsh, causing quite heavy damage from the North to the Central region. Whenever there is major damage, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and local people stand up to organize fundraising, with the sentiment of everyone helping with whatever they have, with little money and a big heart. In particular, in the face of the huge damage that the people of the Central region are suffering from the floods, in recent days the ward has organized donations of necessities and goods to be able to respond and support the people. Although it is a common task, every person participates enthusiastically as if it were their own family's work.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Trang Dai Ward, during the night of November 22 to the early morning of November 23, more than 300 banh chung and banh tet were wrapped and cooked by the people in the ward and loaded onto trucks to be quickly transported to the disaster-stricken areas. In addition, people also donated hundreds of boxes of noodles, rice, drinking water and other necessities. These goods were classified and packaged into gift packages for easy distribution when reaching people in the flood-stricken areas.

In addition to the flood relief reception point of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province and the Provincial Red Cross Society, many localities in the province are also urgently organizing fundraising activities to support people.
