On the morning of November 23, speaking with the Health and Life Newspaper, MSc. Nguyen Duy Long - Head of Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center (under Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health ) said that due to the prolonged rain and floods in the past time, many areas were isolated, so the mobilization of voluntary blood donation in the whole province encountered many difficulties.
Khanh Hoa 's blood reserve has therefore decreased sharply and lacks additional resources, causing difficulties in responding to emergency situations and treating patients.
To solve the problem, Khanh Hoa Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center is urgently calling for voluntary blood donations.
Mr. Long added that in the past few days, traffic was still cut off, making it difficult to access communes and wards for mobilization, so Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center mobilized a series of foreign tourists to participate in blood donation. Preliminarily, more than 100 foreigners donated blood. This precious blood source was carefully preserved, promptly provided to hospitals for emergency and treatment, especially in cases of unexpected accidents.

Locals and foreign tourists come to Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to register for voluntary blood donation.
After receiving reports of difficulties in blood donation mobilization due to floods, Khanh Hoa Department of Health issued an urgent dispatch to many agencies and units in the area.
The Department of Health requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and the Khanh Hoa Red Cross to immediately direct agencies, units, commune-level People's Committees and steering committees for blood donation in localities with convenient and safe traffic conditions, to increase the mobilization of cadres, civil servants, public employees and people to participate in urgent voluntary blood donation. Blood donation is to ensure enough blood supply for emergency care and treatment of patients.
In the South Khanh Hoa region, centralized blood donation reception is implemented at Ninh Thuan General Hospital.
The North Khanh Hoa area receives blood donations at the Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center (16 Hong Bang, Nha Trang Ward). At the same time, the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinates with the Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center and Ninh Thuan General Hospital to organize blood donations by region, in accordance with the actual situation and ensuring safety.

People donate blood voluntarily at Khanh Hoa Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center.

MSc. Nguyen Duy Long said that over the past few days, more than 100 foreigners have participated in voluntary blood donation after being mobilized.
Medical facilities in Khanh Hoa province must prioritize the provision and use of blood for emergency and treatment work appropriate to the patient's condition. In addition, based on the development of floods, traffic conditions and the need for blood provision, facilities must proactively arrange and ensure blood sources for treatment work.
In localities with convenient and safe traffic conditions, it is necessary to increase the mobilization of patients' relatives, medical staff and people to participate in voluntary blood donation.
Khanh Hoa Department of Health also requested the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to ensure adequate chemicals and supplies for blood collection, screening and preservation according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health. Arrange staff to be on duty to receive blood. Prioritize the use of mobilized blood sources to supply units in need of blood for emergency and treatment. At the same time, proactively regulate blood between medical examination and treatment facilities to provide timely supply, especially to facilities affected by floods and traffic disruptions.
