On November 22, many schools and houses in Tay Nha Trang ward, Dien Khanh commune, Dien Dien commune (Khanh Hoa province) were still submerged in mud after the historic flood that caused the water to be 1.5 - 2 meters deep.
The floodwaters have receded and the sky is sunny, people in these localities are taking the opportunity to clean up their houses. Dozens of teachers, students and armed forces are working hard to quickly stabilize teaching and learning.
On the same day, Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training requested units to continue reviewing, compiling statistics, and fully assessing the extent of damage caused by floods in recent days to educational facilities.
The Department also requires schools to prioritize ensuring the safety of students and teachers, only allowing students to return to school when it is absolutely safe, proactively allowing students to stay home from school if safety is not guaranteed and organizing make-up classes later.

Mr. Pham Dinh Trong - Principal of Dien An 1 Primary School - said that the floodwaters were so high that the desks, chairs, and school supplies of the students were damaged, and it is not known when they will be repaired.
