Tay Ninh – JETRO strengthens relationship establishment and investment cooperation

Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa and the delegation visited and worked with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Tokyo.

Expressing his pleasure to meet and work with JETRO - an organization that has been playing a very important role in promoting economic , trade and investment cooperation between Japan and Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa thanked JETRO for always accompanying and supporting Tay Ninh province in the process of promoting investment and connecting with Japanese enterprises in recent times.

The provincial People's Committee leader said that Japanese enterprises are operating very effectively in Tay Ninh, especially in the fields of: Mechanical engineering - machine manufacturing, electronic components, agricultural processing, supporting industry, garment and food processing.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa thanked JETRO for always accompanying and supporting the province in the process of promoting investment and connecting with Japanese enterprises.

In the coming time, Tay Ninh will develop according to the green growth model - innovation - sustainability, focusing on 5 key areas to attract foreign investment, including Japan. In particular, Tay Ninh is a province in the Southern Key Economic Zone of Vietnam, with a strategic location - located between Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia), is an international trade gateway on the East - West economic corridor, focusing on 4 international border gates in the province.

“We believe that, as the leading bridge between the Vietnamese local government and the Japanese business community, JETRO will continue to support, introduce and accompany Tay Ninh in promoting the investment environment, organizing promotional conferences, connecting businesses and finding strategic partners” – Mr. Pham Tan Hoa emphasized.

JETRO representative highly appreciated the positive signals of investment environment in Tay Ninh.

On the JETRO side, the organization representative highly appreciated Tay Ninh's favorable geographical location - located near Ho Chi Minh City and having Moc Bai International Border Gate, as well as the province's efforts in preparing clean land and improving policies to create the most favorable conditions for Japanese investors. According to JETRO, this is the right time for the province to continue introducing its potential, strengths and investment cooperation opportunities to the Japanese business community.

At the meeting, the JETRO representative briefly informed the working delegation about 4 areas that this organization is prioritizing in Vietnam, including Tay Ninh, including: Promoting startups, supporting capital and policies, developing human resources and strengthening economic regional linkages.

According to JETRO, a recent survey shows that more than 56% of Japanese enterprises want to invest or expand operations in Vietnam, including Tay Ninh - the highest rate among the countries surveyed. The organization commented that Vietnam currently has an open market, competitive labor costs and a stable political environment, creating a great advantage in attracting Japanese enterprises. However, JETRO also raised some concerns, especially the overlap in administrative procedures and institutions, while labor costs are on the rise.

Responding to these opinions, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Tan Hoa discussed and resolved the problems raised, and introduced new policies of the province to improve the investment environment. He expressed his hope that JETRO would continue to pay attention, closely coordinate and accompany Tay Ninh, especially in the four areas that the organization is focusing on supporting, contributing to bringing the cooperative relationship between Tay Ninh and Japanese partners to become increasingly deeper, more substantial and effective./.
