MIDA deploys solar power system of more than 2,000kWp - An important step in greening production

Groundbreaking ceremony of rooftop solar power system at MIDA factory

The rooftop solar power system at MIDA is deployed to build an environmentally friendly production model, save energy and increasingly meet ESG (Environment - Social - Governance) standards from international partners.

The project not only brings economic benefits, but also demonstrates MIDA's commitment to contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's supporting industry, reducing emissions and enhancing competitiveness in the global supply chain.

Accordingly, the rooftop solar power project at MIDA has a capacity of 2,000.88kWp, a total of 3,176 panels, each with a capacity of 630Wp. The expected electricity output is 2,717,540 kWh/year, equivalent to about 23% of the factory's current electricity demand. In particular, with this project, MIDA will reduce emissions by over 1,780 tons of CO₂/year, equivalent to about 20% of the factory's total current emissions.

The above figures show that the project not only helps significantly reduce the amount of electricity consumed from the national grid, but also contributes to creating a stable energy source, supporting more continuous and efficient production activities.

MIDA factory has an area of ^45,000m2 located in My Yen commune, Tay Ninh province.

Sharing about the project, MIDA's Plastic Block Production Director Phan Tan Viet said: "Investing in a rooftop solar power system is an important step for MIDA in its journey of sustainable - efficient - environmentally friendly development, while also supporting optimal production costs in the long term. The system helps MIDA be more proactive in energy sources and enhance its reputation with international partners. This is a clear demonstration of MIDA's strong commitment to environmental protection and promoting green production."

As planned, the rooftop solar power system will be handed over and put into use from February 2026. Once operational, the project will make a practical contribution to the goal of reducing emissions, saving energy and improving MIDA's operational efficiency in the new development phase.

This is not only an important milestone for the enterprise but also contributes to promoting Vietnam's supporting industry in a circular and efficient direction. The project will be a solid foundation for MIDA to continue expanding its production scale and enhancing its position in the global supply chain./.
