In an interview with Russia’s TASS news agency on February 24, Liu Bangyu said: “The US has imposed additional unilateral sanctions on Chinese companies on the grounds that they have relations with Russia. This is a typical move of economic coercion, unilateralism and bullying.”

According to the diplomat , Beijing “firmly opposes the US move to over-expand the concept of national security and abuse state power to oppress Chinese companies.”

Previously, on February 23, the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions against Moscow, targeting individuals and legal entities in Russia and several other countries, including China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Turkey.
