Another party source also said Ms Suu Kyi had been moved to a high-level complex in Naypyidaw.

Earlier this week, media reported that Myanmar's military government could move Aung San Suu Kyi from detention to house arrest in the capital Naypytaw.

The AP news agency quoted an unnamed security official as saying that the decision was an act of clemency for prisoners on a religious holiday.

On February 1, 2021, the Myanmar military junta sentenced Aung San Suu Kyi to 33 years in prison for a series of crimes, including corruption, illegal possession of walkie-talkies, and violating restrictions to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. In June 2022, after more than a year of house arrest, she was transferred to a detention camp in Naypyidaw.

In March, Ms Suu Kyi's NLD party was among 40 political parties dissolved after failing to meet the election registration deadline.
