For the first time in his career, legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal ranked below Ly Hoang Nam on the ATP scoreboard.
According to the updated scoreboard this week, Nadal has 45 points, ranked 664th, while Ly Hoang Nam has 68 points, ranked 535th in the world . The Vietnamese tennis player is currently ranked 129 ATP ranks above Nadal.

Nadal dropped 420 places compared to last week's scoreboard, due to the deduction of 200 points from his win over Casper Ruud at the 2022 ATP Finals. Compared to the beginning of 2023, the "King of Clay" dropped 662 places.
Nadal has not played since suffering a hip injury in the second round of the Australian Open in early 2023. The 37-year-old then struggled with treatment, requiring surgery in June and missing the entire season. He had previously announced his plans to retire in 2024, after a series of persistent injuries.
Nadal has not played for more than nine months, causing him to experience many sad milestones on the ATP rankings. On March 20, he dropped out of the ATP Top 10 for the first time in 18 years, ending a record of 912 consecutive weeks in the world's Top 10, with a total of 6,538 days, starting from April 25, 2005.
Nadal dropped out of the top 100 after Roland Garros 2023. He dropped another 100 places after the US Open that same year. In early October, Mr. Craig Tiley, Director of the Australian Open, revealed that Nadal had personally confirmed his participation in the Grand Slam tournament in early 2024. If Nadal does not recover in time to participate, his score will be zero.
Vietnam's number one tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has had 30 points deducted from last week and has just dropped 92 places to 535th in the world. Yesterday, November 14, Hoang Nam won his opening match at the M25 Hua Hin tournament in Thailand, with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 against home player Kasidit Samrej.
