The report of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee stated: In 2023, the traffic order and safety situation in the province changed positively, traffic accidents (TNGT) were reduced compared to 2022 in all three criteria of number of cases, number of deaths, number of injuries and no particularly serious traffic accidents occurred. Accordingly, from December 15, 2022 to December 14, 2023, 209 cases occurred in the province, killing 88 people, injuring 171 people, compared to 2022, there were 24 fewer cases, 15 fewer deaths, and 13 fewer injuries.

Traffic police deployed 11,969 patrols and control shifts, detecting 23,243 cases of traffic safety violations, including 9,367 cases of cars, 13,829 cases of motorbikes, 47 cases of electric bicycles, penalizing 16,884 cases, with fines totaling more than 57.7 billion VND.

To achieve that result, the provincial leaders and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee have strengthened their leadership and direction, and departments, branches, People's Committees, and local Traffic Safety Committees have proactively developed plans and organized the implementation of traffic safety and order.

Patrolling, controlling and handling violations are regularly and continuously deployed by the authorities, in a closed area, especially on the topics of alcohol concentration, speed, and handling violations via cameras; the traffic inspection force focuses on checking traffic safety conditions in transportation business, controlling vehicle load, and managing vehicle technical aspects. Newly invested traffic infrastructure as well as maintenance and repair work of traffic infrastructure are given attention to ensure the travel needs of the people...

However, in addition to the achieved results, violations of road traffic safety laws are still quite common, especially speeding, violations of alcohol concentration regulations, driving in the wrong lane, and motorcyclists not wearing helmets.

Vehicle weight violations still occur in some localities, especially in areas with mines, minerals, factories, and construction works, leading to serious deterioration of road infrastructure, high potential for traffic accidents, and violations of road and railway traffic safety corridors that have not been promptly and thoroughly handled.

Some black spots and potential traffic accident spots arising during the exploitation process have not been handled promptly, especially at intersections with high traffic density, traffic is organized by painted road markings and signs.

In 2024, with the goal of reducing the number of cases, deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents by over 5% compared to 2023, focusing on ensuring security, safety, health, life and property of the people, overcoming traffic congestion, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has developed a plan to drastically and specifically implement each task and activity in accordance with the actual conditions of the locality, agency, unit as well as disseminate and thoroughly understand the tasks to each cadre, civil servant, public employee and employee; linking the responsibility of the individual head with the results of the implementation of the task of ensuring traffic order and safety within the scope of functions, tasks and authority of agencies and units performing public duties. Strengthening the application of science and technology in ensuring traffic order and safety, first of all applying information technology in transport management and operation, monitoring, detecting and handling violations of traffic order and safety...

In recognition of the achievements, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 groups and 5 individuals; the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 7 individuals for their achievements in ensuring traffic safety and order in 2023.
