Recently, Quanta Computer Inc., a Taiwanese corporation, has officially exported two batches of laptop models from its factory in My Thuan Industrial Park, Nam Dinh City, just 16 months after being granted the project investment registration certificate.

Previously, in less than 48 hours, Quanta Computer Inc. was granted a project investment registration certificate upon completing the registration dossier. The prompt support from Nam Dinh province not only helped this enterprise affirm its production capacity, quickly bring products to market, creating great opportunities in expanding international trade activities, but also helped the enterprise feel secure in continuing to implement steps according to the investment roadmap to increase production capacity.
Mr. Vu Quoc Phong, Deputy General Director of Quanta Computer Inc., said that the Group has received very active and enthusiastic support from local authorities at all levels so that the project can start construction soon, complete the construction of factory No. 1, install equipment with a production scale of 1.3 million computers, test run the system to production at a fast speed while still ensuring international quality standards.
It is expected that by 2025, the project's capacity will reach 2.6 million units, by 2026 it will reach 3.6 million units, by 2027 it will reach 4 million units, and by 2028 it will reach 4.5 million units. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the Group will employ about 2,000 workers, and by the end of 2025 it will employ 9,000 workers.

Previously, in April 2024, Top Textiles Co., Ltd. at Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park (Aurora IP) also completed procedures to export the first shipment of 3.5 tons of Uniqlo samples, worth 53,000 USD. The Top Textiles Dyeing Factory project started construction in July 2022 and has now completed phase 1 with a capacity of 60 million meters of fabric/year, 4 times the current capacity of Nam Dinh province. Currently, the project is continuing to invest in phase 2, expected to be completed in 2025. This is a high-tech project, using few workers, producing a variety of high-quality textile products. When phase 2 investment is completed, the factory will supply the market with about 120 million meters of fabric/year.
Thus, the implementation and operation of high-tech industrial projects will contribute to increasing the industrial production value and export value of goods of Nam Dinh province, creating more jobs and income for thousands of workers in the locality and neighboring areas.
In addition, with the new FDI project group investing in Nam Dinh province, it is forecasted that gradually there will be more large enterprises in high-value product groups such as electronics, computers and components; machinery, equipment, spare parts... will invest here. This is considered a source of products contributing to increasing the efficiency of goods export of Nam Dinh province.
Continue to "attract" environmentally friendly projects
The export of the first two batches of sample laptops by Quanta Computer Inc., and the first batch of Uniqlo samples by Top Textiles Co., Ltd., has demonstrated the effective cooperation between Nam Dinh province and FDI enterprises. This also promises to bring many bilateral economic benefits, contributing to enhancing the position of Nam Dinh province on the map of high-tech industry.
According to the Nam Dinh Provincial Statistics Office, in the first 8 months of 2024, the province's industrial production index increased by 14.34% over the same period last year - the highest increase since 2019. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 14.46%. Also in the first 8 months of 2024, Nam Dinh province's export turnover reached 1,848 million USD, up 10.1% over the same period in 2023. Of which, the foreign-invested sector was 1,323 million USD, up 10.7%.

Nam Dinh province aims to basically complete the goal of industrialization and modernization by 2030, being among the provinces with fairly developed industry in the Red River Delta; by 2045, becoming a modern industrial province.

Mr. Kyuichi Fukumoto, Director of Pacific Textile Group and Chairman of Top Textiles Co., Ltd. shared that the company is committed to protecting the environment and has invested in a wastewater treatment plant with output meeting column A standards, QCVN 40: 2011/BTNMT and an exhaust gas treatment system to meet the highest standards of the Vietnamese industry. The company also installed an exhaust gas treatment system to meet standards that are more stringent than those required for the Vietnamese industry.
According to Comrade Pham Gia Tuc, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, investment from private investors and foreign investors has contributed significantly to the growth of Nam Dinh province in recent times. Nam Dinh province will strengthen administrative procedure reform to attract investment. At the same time, focus on markets where many businesses are interested in Nam Dinh province. In particular, focus on attracting large corporations, using high technology, environmentally friendly such as: chips, semiconductors, electronics... Along with that, Nam Dinh province will organize specific promotion activities in each field, each corporation to attract investment more effectively in the coming time.
