On the morning of March 25, the People's Council of Nam Sach district ( Hai Duong ) passed a resolution on the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2025.

According to the resolution on the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Nam Sach district in the period of 2023 - 2025, Nam Trung commune merged with Nam Chinh commune to establish a new commune named Tran Phu commune, headquartered at the current office of Nam Trung commune.

The Nam Sach District Department of Internal Affairs said the plan to name the new commune Tran Phu was because the two communes of Nam Trung and Nam Chinh were previously one commune, named Tran Phu. In 1956, Tran Phu commune was divided into two communes, Nam Trung and Nam Chinh.

In the book History of the Party Committee of Nam Trung Commune, it is written that in early 1951, the French set up posts and established militia in most of the villages along Highway 17 from Nam Sach Town to Nam Hung Commune. In that situation, to concentrate forces and unify leadership, the Nam Sach District Party Committee decided to merge the communes of Minh Duc, Van Xuan, and Kim Bich into one commune, named Tran Phu in January 1951. In June 1956, Tran Phu commune was split into the two current communes of Nam Trung and Nam Chinh.

An Lam commune and Phu Dien commune also merged to form a new commune-level administrative unit named An Phu commune, with its headquarters located at the current headquarters of An Lam commune. The new name An Phu is a combination of the names of the two old communes.

The merger of 4 communes into 2 new communes, Tran Phu and An Phu, was unanimously approved by the majority of voters in the communes, with the percentage of voters agreeing being over 98%.

Also in the period of 2023 - 2025, Thanh Quang commune will merge into Quoc Tuan commune to become Quoc Tuan commune, with its headquarters located at the current headquarters of Thanh Quang commune. Nam Hong commune will merge into Nam Sach town, with its headquarters located at the headquarters of Nam Sach town.

Thus, after the merger, Nam Sach district will reduce 4 communes, the whole district will have 15 communes and towns. Previously, in the period of 2019 - 2021, Nam Sach district did not have any communes subject to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.
