Oraiden Manuel Sabonete (Africa), a third-year student majoring in electrical engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, suddenly became famous for his role in the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano".
Acting many times even though the scene only appeared for about 5 seconds In the film, Oraiden plays the role of a French soldier. Although only participating in a small role in the film "Peach, Pho and Piano", Oraiden Manuel Sabonete still feels happy and satisfied. Sharing with Dan Tri reporter at noon on February 20, the male student said that he participated in this film around 2022-2023. In the film, he plays the role of a French soldier. Although he knows a little French and doesn't have many lines, Oraiden is still satisfied. According to Oraiden, filming and acting in the film is not easy for an "amateur" student like him. According to his observation, the actors, from the extras to the main roles, all did a lot of work when filming this film. "To have a perfect movie that is released in theaters like everyone is watching, I think it is a combination of many people, from the director, actors, choreographers, assistants, producers, and many others. Even though I played a small role, there were scenes that only lasted about 5 seconds, but my co-stars and I had to act them over and over again because we did not achieve the desired results. However, the director and everyone were very patient with us so that the scene could be completed," said Oraiden Manuel Sabonete. Sharing more with us, Oraiden said that after the movie was released during the recent Tet holiday, especially after information about her role was posted on social networks yesterday, she was very surprised because after just one night, hundreds of people sent invitations to connect on her personal Facebook page. "I am very grateful to the Vietnamese people for their care, friendliness and good feelings. It's a pity that I cannot agree to be friends with everyone because Facebook's friend list is limited and currently overloaded," Oraiden shared. Oraiden's family has many children, his father is an engineer, his mother is a nurse. Oraiden's parents divorced when he was young. Oraiden lived with his mother. Later, Oraiden's parents were both busy with their own families and children, so from a young age, the boy was very independent. He loved and took care of his younger siblings, and even took responsibility for working and earning money to help his younger siblings develop better than himself. His family could not afford Oraiden's education, so when he heard about a government scholarship to study in Vietnam, he immediately registered. "I really like history. I learned about Vietnam through Mozambique's history books. My impression of Vietnam at that time was the spirit of bravery and resilience in fighting against foreign invaders," Oraiden recalled. In particular, Vietnam and Mozambique established diplomatic relations since 1975, so I always wish to set foot in this country one day. In Vietnam, Oraiden studied Vietnamese for 1 year at the University of Education, Thai Nguyen University. Although he was not yet fluent in Vietnamese, he still "packed up" and went to Hanoi University of Science and Technology to study. Passing the language exam with 10 points in speaking, Oraiden chose the electrical engineering major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology because the knowledge he learned here was essential to building the energy industry in Mozambique. The first classes were really stressful for Oraiden. The language limitation, which was only enough for communication, made him unable to understand what the teachers were saying. In the early days, he spoke Vietnamese in a mess, making mistakes with all the accents: grave, sharp, question, and heavy. In Mozambique, Oraiden had studied calculus, but when he came to Vietnam, he found these subjects almost new. On the exam day of some subjects such as algebra, probability and statistics, general physics, etc., sometimes by the end of the time, he still did not understand what the exam was asking. Oraiden even had to retake some general subjects. When I feel discouraged, I call my father. My father encourages me to "keep trying". Every time I feel like I'm about to "give up", I go on Facebook, see my friends in my hometown expressing their admiration for me, wanting to follow my example to improve, I am determined to continue studying. In addition to studying at school, the male student spends 3-4 hours a day studying on his own. "The reason I got 10 points in a subject considered "difficult" even for Vietnamese people is because I am passionate about Vietnamese history. I spent a lot of time "plowing day and night" to study and review for exams with friends and teachers. Overcoming my initial curiosity, I was determined to learn more about Vietnamese history, which I love very much. That is what helped me get full marks," Oraiden told Dan Tri reporter. In the second year, Oraiden and a group of friends participated in scientific research with the topic "Vietnam - Mozambique economic relations from the international economic integration policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam ". This topic of Oraiden's group has two articles published in scientific journals and has been confirmed by the Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Embassy of Mozambique in Vietnam for its applicability. The topic also helped Oraiden's group win first prize in the 2021 University-level Scientific Research Student Competition and was nominated to participate in the Ministry-level Science and Technology Award. The contest product with the theme "The significance of the Party's bamboo diplomacy in responding to non-traditional security challenges" recently by Oraiden and his colleagues also won first prize in the magazine category and second prize in the video category of the Hanoi Party Committee. The magazine article then won the prospective award in the national final round. At the end of October, Oraiden and two Lao and Cambodian students represented Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the Vietnamese speaking contest organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. In his performance, Oraiden talked about the relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique, the street named after President Ho Chi Minh and Viettel's coverage of rural areas in his native Mozambique.
The film "Peach, Pho and Piano" is a project directed and written by Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son, invested by the state with a budget of 20 billion VND. "Peach, Pho and Piano" is set in the context of the 60-day and night winter-spring battle from late 1946 to early 1947 in Hanoi./.
