Male student of continuing education won 2 first prizes for excellent students

Meeting Ha Trong Bach at the recent ceremony to honor excellent students of Tan Phu District People's Committee, we were impressed with this male student as he was one of the few students in the district to win two first prizes in the city-level excellent student competition.

Lost and depressed

Born in 1998, Ha Trong Bach had good academic achievements in Hai Phong . He was passionate about math since his early years of middle school. Bach also studied in a specialized chemistry class at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted (Hai Phong) until he dropped out to do a "cultural exchange" at a school in the US.

After completing his cultural exchange program and returning to Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic, Trong Bach did not have a high school diploma in Vietnam and had not yet been awarded a degree in the US. Feeling uncertain about his future, helpless, and facing difficulties in his daily life, Trong Bach fell into severe depression.

"I felt so useless. I blamed myself and fell into depression, not wanting to talk to anyone, not wanting to see anyone, withdrawing into myself. My parents loved me very much but couldn't do anything. I didn't even want to eat or drink..." - Trong Bach recalled.

Those days, Trong Bach thought his studies would come to an end. "I really didn't like studying culture anymore. After moving to Ho Chi Minh City, my depression got better, my parents asked me what profession I wanted to study to have a job to make a living. At that time, I chose to study cooking at the Tourism College" - Trong Bach said.

This unit is associated with the Center for VocationalEducation - Continuing Education of Tan Phu district, so Trong Bach returned to study culture.

Back to the dream

Trong Bach said that in the first days of returning to the cultural class at the Tan Phu District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center, he was still shy about communicating and almost did not play with anyone. However, the active and open learning environment of his classmates made Trong Bach feel comfortable integrating into the class.

"Teachers care about each student, each situation. Teachers also hold chat sessions where we can tell them everything that is on our minds. Being able to share and love each other makes me feel more and more attached to the class" - Bach said.

Just like that, Trong Bach got back into the rhythm of studying and regained his knowledge. "The teachers encouraged me to try my hand at the excellent student competition. The teachers also provided me with training according to the schedule and I learned new and useful knowledge...

I am really happy to win first prize in the city's excellent student math competition and first prize in the math competition on handheld calculators. I am extremely grateful to my teachers for giving me the motivation to study again and find myself again" - Trong Bach emotionally shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - homeroom teacher of class 12B15 - said that Bach is a quiet, reserved student but very emotional, loves his teachers and friends. Especially, when teachers inspire him, Bach will demonstrate well the knowledge and skills he has learned.

"Bach is good at many subjects from math, English to subjects like chemistry and physics. But he loves math very much and thanks to the encouragement of his math teacher and his own efforts, he has achieved good results. His efforts are worth learning. In work and study, he is a hard-working and diligent person" - Ms. Phuong added.

Dream of becoming a math teacher

Trong Bach said winning two first prizes for excellent students has given him more confidence and motivation to strive.

"I dream of becoming a math teacher. Thanks to the encouragement of my teachers and the devoted care of my parents, I have now rediscovered my love of learning.

I am trying to study, improve my knowledge and skills to be able to realize my dream of becoming a teacher. I want to say that this credit belongs largely to the teachers who have guided me through the difficulties" - Hoang Bach sent a message.

Mirror of growth

Bach has been out of school for a long time and has been undergoing medical treatment. However, thanks to his determination and efforts, he has achieved high academic results. The school highly appreciates his efforts in studying and improving.
