Improve the quality of cultural titles in the area

DTO - In recent times, sectors, units and localities of Lai Vung district have paid attention to implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" widely to residential areas, in accordance with actual conditions. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of cultural titles, especially cultural families in the area.

The message "Lai Vung district people are determined to unite to build a cultural life" is displayed on the local welcome gate.

Sectors, units and localities in Lai Vung district concretize Resolution No. 06 dated December 31, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on building a culture and people of Dong Thap that are affectionate, dynamic and creative by building a healthy cultural environment. Especially a civilized environment at agencies and units; culture in behavior, standard working style of the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees to ensure professionalism and efficiency in performing public duties, meeting the requirements of serving the people.

Currently, Lai Vung district has 65 newly built cultural houses in hamlets and residential areas that meet the standards; 6 inter-hamlet cultural houses; 12/12 communes and towns have cultural and community learning centers that have been newly built or renovated and upgraded to meet the standards according to regulations. This is where the hamlet People's Committee operates; the Don ca tai tu clubs hold meetings to review cultural families, and cultural and artistic activities to meet the entertainment and living needs of the people.

According to the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Lai Vung district, from the beginning of the year, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has been deployed to residential areas, focusing on solutions that go deep into the substance, improving the quality of cultural titles, especially the title "Cultural Family". At the same time, organize the evaluation of cultural titles publicly, democratically, ensuring compliance with the prescribed order and procedures. From there, create positive changes, self-awareness and strive to implement well the standards to be recognized as "Cultural Family", form the habit of building a cultural and civilized lifestyle in residential areas as well as maintain and uphold cultural titles in the residential community.

The number of households achieving the title of "Cultural Family" in communes and towns of Lai Vung district has increased gradually over the years. In 2022, the whole district had 39,383/42,547 households achieving the title of "Cultural Family" (accounting for 92.56%); in 2023, there were 39,898/42,180 households (accounting for 94.58%); in 2024, there were 40,309/42,122 households (reaching 95.70%). Every year, Lai Vung district selects typical cultural households to participate in the Typical Family Competition organized by the province with many new activities, attracting viewers, creating conditions for households to exchange and learn experiences in implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" more and more practically and effectively. At the same time, the cultural and typical titles of hamlets, villages, communes and towns have been improved in quality and quantity. In 2024, Lai Vung district had 71/71 hamlets and villages recognized as “Cultural hamlets and villages”; 12/12 communes and towns achieved the title of “Typical communes and towns”.

In general, through the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Lai Vung district, it has gathered and united social forces, aroused and promoted the positivity and creativity of the people in implementing Resolution No. 06 of the 11th Provincial Party Committee on building culture and people of Dong Thap with affection, dynamism and creativity, especially improving the quality of the titles "Cultural family", "Cultural hamlet", "Typical commune and town". The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has contributed to forming the habit of building a cultural and civilized lifestyle in residential areas. Therefore, maintaining and upholding cultural titles is the foundation for promoting economic development and effectively solving social problems in the locality.

Every year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lai Vung district guides the Front Working Committees of hamlets and villages to organize the "Great National Unity" Festival. This is an opportunity for people in hamlets and villages to meet, exchange and strengthen relationships through organizing cultural activities, arts, and folk games to create a joyful and united atmosphere. Along with that, evaluate the results of emulation movements and commend and reward exemplary households in building cultural life and building new rural areas at the grassroots level.
