Improve the quality of cultural life

In order to develop the movement to build a cultural life in depth, quality and efficiency, the Steering Committee for family work and the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life at all levels has focused on leading, directing and implementing the movement extensively through many rich and diverse forms, suitable to the characteristics of each unit and locality.

The evaluation of the title of cultural family in localities is conducted publicly, democratically, closely following current criteria. Typical cultural families become the nucleus in the movement to build prosperous, equal, harmonious, progressive and happy families. At the same time, they are also positive and important factors in protecting and preserving the moral values, fine customs and good traditional culture of the nation.

Up to now, the whole province has over 92% of families meeting cultural standards; over 84% of hamlets and quarters have been recognized as cultural. Institutions and activities of culture, arts, physical education and sports for the masses are increasingly lively, rich, diverse in form, attractive, meeting the needs of people to enjoy cultural and spiritual life. Festivals are organized in accordance with State regulations, ensuring thrift, solemnity and civilization; socialization work is promoted effectively.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Ba, resident of Thoai Son commune, said: “People are excited about the positive changes in the locality. Roads and schools have been invested in; people's lives have gradually improved, and people's knowledge has increasingly improved. I myself always follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; take care of my children's education and actively participate in building a cultural lifestyle and building new rural areas."

The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life has been spreading strongly not only in urban areas but also in mountainous areas, remote areas, border areas, and ethnic minority areas. Many activities are organized in a rich, flexible, creative manner, suitable to the conditions of each locality, associated with the movement of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, creating a fundamental change in the appearance of hamlets, villages, and communes.

Mr. Chau Ron, resident of O Lam commune, said: “Now, the lives of local people, especially ethnic minorities, are much better than before. Not only do they have jobs, but people are also given the opportunity to participate in cultural, artistic and sports activities. Everyone is excited.”

Many activities and movements such as: Building new rural areas, civilized urban lifestyle; building new and repairing houses of gratitude, solidarity houses, charity houses; building and upgrading bridges and rural roads; installing public lighting, making fences, flagpoles, flower roads, etc. have received positive responses from the whole society. Through activities and movements, they contribute to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, promoting the great national unity, promoting comprehensive socio -economic development, and maintaining national defense and security.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Minh Trang province said that the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations actively participated in the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life in agencies, units, and residential areas, and received the response and participation of a large number of cadres, union members, association members, and people. "The highlight is the mobilization of social resources to care for people's lives, especially policy beneficiaries, the poor, and vulnerable people in society, thereby arousing the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, and helping each other to improve in life," said Ms. Ha Minh Trang.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee for family work and the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life in the province will continue to improve and innovate the content and methods of operation to suit the characteristics and actual situation at the grassroots level and residential areas.

An Giang will promote socialization, effectively exploit cultural institutions; pay attention to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of each locality and each ethnic group. The cultural sector and localities regularly organize cultural, artistic and sports activities to meet the needs of cultural enjoyment, health training, and create a healthy playground for the people.
